The Bible describes a new heaven and a new earth, a place free from pain, full of joy, meaningful work, community, and worship. It is a physical place where we will recognize each other, experience God’s presence, and live in the fullness of His promises. In this message, we follow 2 Peter 3 and Revelation to see what will happen at the end of the world, the hope of eternal life, and how that hope shapes life today. Heaven is not just a distant idea, it is a reality that gives perspective, hope, and joy for the life we are living now.

世界をひっくり返した教会

今週から新しいシリーズ「話し合いましょう：子育て」が始まります。今回は「家族を神の愛に中心づける」というテーマを一緒に考えていきます。子育てには喜びと重みの両方があります。親として、子どもを大人へとしっかり育てられているだろうかと不安になることもあります。さらに大切なのは、どうすれば子どもたちが神を知り、従うことができるかという問いです。申命記6章は、神が家族に対して、神の真実を思い出し、神の愛を語り合い、そして常に神に立ち返る習慣を築くようにと語っています。

In this message, we begin a new series called “Let’s Talk About It: Parenting.” Together, we look at what it means to center your family on God’s love. Parenting comes with both joy and weight. As parents, we often wonder if we are preparing our children well for adulthood. More importantly, we ask how we can help them know and follow God. Deuteronomy 6 shows us that God calls families to remember His faithfulness, talk about His love, and build habits that point us back to Him.

This passage reminds us that God rescued His people, sustained them, and gave them commands for life. In the same way, we are called to write God’s truth on our hearts, talk about it with our children, and display visible reminders of His faithfulness in our homes. It’s about more than rules—it’s about love.

Even if you are not a parent, this message applies because we are all sons, daughters, and part of a family. 今日、本当だと思っていたことが実は違っていたと気づいたことはありますか。マルコの福音書2章18–22節では、人々はイエスが自分たちの知っている宗教的な習慣、断食や伝統、神に近づく古いやり方に従うと思っていました。しかしイエスは、古いものに継ぎを当てるために来られたのではなく、まったく新しいものをもたらすために来られたのです。

このメッセージでは、神についての間違った思い込みの危険性、イエスこそが本当の報いであり喜びであること、そして新しい契約がどのようにすべてを変えるのかを見ていきます。イエスに従うことは、古い生活にイエスを付け加えることではなく、イエスを中心としたまったく新しい生き方に入ることです。

Have you ever assumed something was true, only to find out it wasn’t? In Mark 2:18–22, people assumed Jesus would follow the same religious patterns they knew such as fasting, traditions, and old ways of connecting with God. But Jesus shows that He didn’t come to patch up the old. He came to bring something completely new.

In this message we look at the danger of wrong assumptions about God, why Jesus is the true reward and joy, and how His new covenant changes everything. Following Jesus isn’t about adding Him to our old life. It’s about entering into an entirely new way of life with Him at the center.

自分の人生に意味があるのか、考えたことはありますか？

人生は、まるで反対車線を走っているように感じることがあります。ヒースが初めて日本に来たとき、ウインカーを出そうとしてワイパーを動かしてしまいました。アメリカに戻ったときには、すべてが不自然に感じられました。その混乱は、神様から離れて生きているときの私たちの人生や人間関係の感覚に似ています。私たちの本能は、自己中心や怒り、正直でない選択へと向かいがちです。でも、神様はまったく違う道を用意してくださっています。

エペソ人への手紙4章にあるこのメッセージは、キリストを知ることで、考え方、話し方、生き方までもが新しくされることを示しています。神様はただ私たちの行動を良くしようとしているのではなく、新しい心と新しい思いを与えてくださるのです。その変化は、神様のことばと御霊によって心が新しくされるところから始まります。そしてそこから、本当の変化が起こります。

ヒースは、エペソ4章に書かれている5つの具体例を通して、イエスに従う人々がどのように違った生き方をしているのかを語ります。嘘の代わりに真実を語ること。怒りを持ち続けるのではなく手放すこと。人を傷つける言葉ではなく、励ます言葉を選ぶこと。苦々しさよりも親切さを。自己中心ではなく惜しみない心を持つこと。

これは自己改善の話ではありません。これは奇跡の話です。神様の御霊の力によって、内側から私たちが造り変えられていくのです。もし、悪い習慣から抜け出せずに悩んでいたり、反射的な言動で人を傷つけてしまっている自分に疲れているなら、このメッセージに希望があります。神様は、私たちの“当たり前”を変えることができるのです。

Life often feels like driving on the wrong side of the road. When Heath first moved to Japan, he kept turning on the windshield wipers instead of the blinker—and when he returned to America, nothing felt natural anymore. That disorientation is exactly how our lives and relationships can feel apart from God. Our instincts often lead us toward selfishness, anger, and dishonesty. But God offers something radically different.

This message from Ephesians 4 reveals how knowing Christ gives us a whole new way to think, speak, and live. God doesn’t just improve our behavior—He gives us a new heart, a new mind, and a new way to respond. It starts with the renewing of our minds through God's Word and Spirit. And from that renewal, real change begins.

Heath walks us through five everyday examples Paul gives in Ephesians 4, showing how followers of Jesus live differently: speaking truth instead of lying, letting go of anger instead of feeding it, building others up instead of tearing them down, choosing kindness over bitterness, and living generously instead of selfishly.

This isn’t about self-help. It’s about a miracle—the power of God’s Spirit transforming us from the inside out. If you’ve ever felt stuck in harmful habits or tired of your first reactions hurting others, this message offers hope: God can change your natural instincts.

あなたのアイデンティティは、あなたの生き方に大きな影響を与えます。神がどのようなお方かを知るとき、私たちは自分の本当のアイデンティティを理解することができます。そして、本当のアイデンティティから、神が私たちのために用意された人生を歩むことができるのです。

エペソ人への手紙は、神がどのようなお方で、私たちのために何をしてくださったのかを教えてくれます。そして、その恵みにどう応答して生きるべきかを示しています。

アイデンティティが築かれていくとき、それは友情、結婚、職場の人間関係、家族関係など、すべての人間関係に影響を与えます。神を知り、神のために生きることで、それらすべてが変えられていきます。

しかし、キリストにあるアイデンティティを築いていく中で、私たちは必ず困難や反対に直面します。それは私たちの信仰を成長させることにもなれば、信仰から離れる原因にもなります。自分が誰であるかを知っていることは、悪に立ち向かい、キリストにある強いアイデンティティと土台を持ち、本物の信仰を生きる助けとなるのです。

Your identity shapes how you live. When we know God is it helps us to understand our true identity. Out of our true identity we can live the life God created us for. Ephesians walk’s through who God is and what he has done for us. Then it shows how we should live in response to that. Building our identity shapes all of our relationships from our friendships, marriage, working relationships and family relationships. They all are affected by knowing God and living for him. As we build our identity in Christ we will face opposition that will either grow our faith or cause us to turn away. Knowing who we are will help us fight against evil and have a strong identity and foundation in Christ that will lead us to live out a genuine faith in Christ.
