Summer Events 2025

GUNSMOKE -2025

This week we discuss the Gunsmoke 2025 event held at Shannon’s field. Fun was had all around and lots of good pilots and builders showed off their skills. Shannon competed and did well and actually brought home some hardware. Congratulations to all the pilots and builders who were in attendance and to all the first time competitors. warbirds and classics 2025

This week Mike and Shannon discuss the warbirds and classics event held at Sun Valley Fyers Airfield in Phoenix, AZ.  It was a great event despite the wind and rain that passed through the area.  Lots of flying and fun was had by all and Mike even received an award for the big cessna he flew at the event.  Scott attend with Mike and on Sunday got on the sticks for some turbine time on the L-39.  Thanks for your spport and we look forward to you subscribing and giving us a like.

E2K is Here

This week we are joined by Bob Ruff who is working with his club members to bring E2K racing to the area. This type of racing is big in the UK and is just catching on here due to the fact that you can 3D Print the airplanes. Bob takes us through some of the finer points of this project and the guys talk about the potential of printing their own planes. AZEF 2025

This week we attend the Arizona Electric Festival in Mesa, AZ.  We are joined again by Wyatt who was in attendance with over 25 airplanes to fly.  Shannon and AZ Mike flew the T28 trojans and AK Mike had the 40mm F-14 in the air as fast as the batteries would charge.  AZ Mike flew the big Cessna 182 for the News Media again this year and go some great photos thanks to Matthew Sullivan.  Fun was had by All and lots of friends stopped by to say hello.  Special Thanks to Doug for stopping by and showing his s...

Winter Warbirds 2025

This week we are Joined by Tony Quist from Horizon Hobby /Spektrum Team as we attend the winter warbirds event at Sun Valley Flyers Field in Phoenix AZ. This year over 100 pilots were in attendance and from all over the southwest area. Weather was amazing and the quality of aircraft was bar none the best we have seen in a while. Welcome everyone to 2025 our 10th season here at the Parkflyer podcast. We are excited for this year as there are many events scheduled and a few guest we have lined up along the way. 2024 Year End Review

SwapMeet 2024 Join the guys this week as they speak with Shannon on his clubs swap meet and fun fly.  This is a great time for all and helps RC Flyers sell their old planes and items from their build shops and makes money for the club as well.  AK Mike also took a trip down south to visit Jay and did some flying at his local field.  AK Mike has been flying on a regular basis and its obvious his skills have improved from the Daily flights at his field in Dallas.  Join us as we discuss the Ups and Down...

John Morgan EFF Review Join the guys this week for a big review of the John Morgan Electric Fun Fly in St George, UT. Last episode we let the secret out of the shop that Barrett would be bringing a special airplane to the event. Shannon was able to jump in with Him and head out of town to attend the event. This week, Shannon G visits Goodclay Studios to see Barett's special airframe for the John Morgan Electric Fun Fly (J-MEFF) Event in St. George, UT. Shannon has significantly contributed to the electronics of this new airframe. We eagerly await updates from Shannon, who will attend the event, to hear more about the developments and activities happening at J-MEFF.

Friday Flyday This week we discuss the EFlight Eratix flat foamy. AZ Mike finally got his battery connectors and put them together really quick to get out to the field to test out the new addition to the hanger.

FAI World Championships Join the guys this week as we go over the FAI Scale World Championships. We discuss the requirements and who is participating in the World Championships in Romainia. The USA has a team attending this year and we hope to have Tim come on the show and let us know how it went.

Drone Safety This week we discuss the dangerous hazards of flying drones over the Fires in Arizona..  AZ Mike gives his account of the fires close to his home and how Drones caused the fire fighting aircraft to call off the supression due to drones flying in the area.  AZ Mike gives his account of the emotional rollercoaster on this topic.  Sorry for the trouble this week but Shannons feed got dropped during the recording and we could not get his opinion on the matter.

Shannon Acquires a plane This week the guys talk about some new additions to their collection. Shannon acquires a new plane from a club member, and Jay gets his replacement Consendo UMX and heads to the field to fly with Jim. Consendo Maiden This week Jay takes us through his Birthday Present maiden of the UMX Consendo.  The initial build took just a few min to attach wires and batteries and program the radio.  The inital flight was easy and fun and even with the wind was a solid flyer.  Knowing that this plane will be a go to for any day at the field Jay orders more 3S batteries. Gunsmoke 2024 This week we recount Shannons trip to Gunsmoke 2024. Shannon takes us through getting his airplane ready and what it took to compete in this years event. The event was hosted by Arizona Model Aviators in Mesa, AZ and had about 13 pilots competing Lots of fun to be had and the T-28 was a winner. Warbirds and Classics AZ This week we join AZ Mike and Shannon at the warbirds and classics 2024 held here in Phoenix, AZ. We are joined by special guest Scott Berryman from Boulder, CO. This is Scotts first warbirds and classics event and we discuss our favorite planes and the flying we were able to do and some of the amazing things we saw during the event. Avanti S V2 This week we discuss the upgrades to the Avanti S version 2. One of our listeners, Scott, purchased an Avanti S from motion RC and had it shipped to AZ Mikes place for a quick build and set up. After opening the box and putting it all together we noticed a few upgrades from version one. After a little research it has come to our attention that there have been several upgrades to this version over the last, all of which are excellent. AZ Mike walks us through the upgrades and the simplistic build of the PNP version.
