Sailing Anarchy Podcast #61. Sydney to Hobart, Admiral's Cup, Selling my boat!
Last Tuesday at 3:00 PM

SA Podcast #60. Transpac winners!
07/18/2025

Today, we talk with Quantum San Diego's Eric Heim, who just helped drive the Cal 40 Restless to both its class and Overall win in the just-completed 2025 Transpac.

A great story with plenty of good stuff. And apologies - like an idiot, I hit the wrong button and the last couple minutes didn't record!

Sailing Anarchy Podcast #59
07/11/2025

Alex Camet joins us live from Lake Garda, Italy for the Moth Worlds, where he is coaching American Zack Downing. Listen to the infinite details of what it takes to sail these things! Love it!

Sailing Anarchy Podcast #58. Transpac on Ragtime
07/02/2025

Sailing Anarchy Podcast #57. Tempesta hates everything.
06/25/2025

Sailing Anarchy Podcast # 56
06/07/2025

Today, Tempesta whines about the fact that he can't get crew - waa! Dude nobody wants to sail with an old man on an old boat.

Reality bites! And so does he!

Sailing Anarchy Podcast #55
06/02/2025

Tempesta is back! Yay? Whatever, he rambles on about the America's Cup, and yes, even manages to talk about his dopey Hobie 33.

Jeez, give it a rest! Now you give it a listen!

Sailing Anarchy Podcast #54. Racing J/22s
05/09/2025

I had the chance to sail in the uber-competitive SDYC J/22  Beercan Series last night and man, was that fun, and humbling!

20 teams sailed in two flights - silver and gold - we were in silver of course, but had a couple nice finishes and a couple I'd rather not talk about, but I will. Listen!

Sailing Anarchy Podcast #53. "We" go offshore!
04/25/2025

Today Scot Tempesta talks to Alex Camet live from onboard the Swan 60 Good Call as they make their way down the coast of Southern California on the Newport to Ensenada Race. Super cool to have a chat from the water.

And of course Bigmouth Strikes Again, with his nonsensical rant about The America's Cup. Enough already!

Sailing Anarchy Podcast #52. Tempesta got his ass kicked!
04/14/2025

So for all the nonsense your editor here has spewed about his beater Hobie 33, it finally came time to deliver.

And if you know Tempesta, you know that he rarely delivers, and his first race on said Hobie 33 was this past Saturday. We'll let him try to talk his way out of fth in class and 19th overall.

This oughta be good!

Sailing Anarchy Podcast #51. Tempesta goes electric!
03/31/2025

Today, Tempesta goes on and on about his GD Hobie 33.   He tells us that y'all love this sort of thing?

It looks pretty good until you realize Danny Devito couldn't stand up inside. What the hell is he thinking? Oh that's right, that's not his strong suit.

He also briefly dives into the well-worn US SailGP team with lukewarm and predictable results. But wait, there's more...

Sailing Anarchy Podcast #50! All about the Hobie 33
03/10/2025

In today's episode, Tempesta brings you all up to speed on the progress on his "Beater" Hobie 33. First, he goes way too long explaining the obscure and odd name he chose for the boat.

Then he goes on about the yard experience, and all the deets about what it takes to get this thing going. Here at SA, we say hurry the hell up and get on the race course, so that we can hear all about the races he didn't win. (He is likely busting out the excuse machine in anticipation...)

As always, enjoy!<...

Sailing Anarchy Podcast #49
02/16/2025

Ice King Matty Struble joined us to take a bit of a deep dive into his ridiculously brilliant sailing career!

From Moths to Iceboats, Matt does a great job sharing how he does it.

Enjoy!

Sailing Anarchy Podcast #48. Paul Bieker!
02/06/2025

Surely one of the more fascinating designers with a great origin story that led him to design in six America's Cups! And that is only part of the story. I 14s, Moths, custom boats, etc.

Hope ya dig it!

Sailing Anarchy Podcast #47. Tempesta actually buys a boat!
01/22/2025

Yeah, yeah, yeah - we know you've heard it before, but he did get something new (old). You may be surprised, and you might say "What a wanker", but listen up to hear the story. And yes, we know - there is always a story!

Sailing Anarchy Podcast #46. Alex Camet!
12/31/2024

Today, your 'Hostess with the Mostest' welcomes Alex Camet as they talk about the year in review, and what is on the waters ahead.

It must be noted that thanks to The Host, this is the worst, most incomplete, inaccurate and quickly thrown together "Year In Review" ever.  We spent nearly the whole time talking about the AC, and whatever the hell it was that we discussed. Mazel tof!

Sailing Anarchy Podcast #45.Hard core ocean racing. And drinking!
12/18/2024

Quarter million-mile man Brian Hancock joins us for some hilarious (and not-so-hilarious) tales from his previous around-the-world races on Drum with Simon LeBon, the very Russian Fugazi, and More.

We also talk about what is happening in the Vendee Globe, happening right now!

Sailing Anarchy Podcast #44. North Sails, Jules Verne, I found my boat!
12/06/2024

Finally, Tempesta drags his sorry, flabby ass to the microphone and sends some hate North Sails' way, Dishes on the failed Jules Verne Trophy, and he finally finds his boat!

Maybe now he can stop talking about it...

Sailing Anarchy Podcast #43. I found another boat!.
11/19/2024

I did! I found another Columbia 30-2 for sale! Made an offer. Everything looked good. Until it wasn't.

I'm a loser.

Sailing Anarchy Podcast #42. The boat I didn'tget.
11/12/2024

I have been looking for a very specific boat and model to purchase. And I found it! We struck a deal, I was excitedly going through the fun of naming it, and what graphics/paint colors to use, and picking the race schedule, and getting crew together and, and, and...

The deal got killed. The owners decided not to sell - boo! So I found a couple others. Join me in my misery...

Sailing Anarchy Podcast #41. The designer speaks, Scot complains.
11/01/2024

Today Tempesta has a rare podcast that offers some actual insight, but then quickly defaults to his "What can't I complain about" shtick. Bro, it's getting tiresome. Listen anyway.

Sailing Anarchy Podcast #40. The America's Cup so far.
10/14/2024

Today Scot Tempesta gives his best ADHD podcast yet! He skips around for 35 minutes, going from topic to topic with no rhyme or reason.

Welcome to his nightmare! Listen anyway.

SA Podcast #39. Austin Sperry
10/01/2024

Today Star Maser Austin Sperry joined us. Fresh off his Star World Championship with John Kostecki, Austin shares what it's like to sail with JK, the dynamic onboard, the prep involved, and getting the W!

Austin is a cool dude and I hope you enjoy it!

SA Podcast #38. John Kostecki
09/19/2024

Today we are lucky enough to be joined by the current Star World Champion, John Kostecki. John was such a great guest, and despite me interrupting every third sentence, it was a joy to listen to JK break it all down. Enjoy!

Sailing Anarchy Podcast #37. The AC is good!
09/09/2024

You might want to listen to this already too-long podcast twice because Tempesta sings the praises of the America's Cup!

To be sure, he tears into a number of issues, and be sure to hear what he says about the broadcast. We hate to say it, but for once he's right!

Enjoy.

Sailing Anarchy Podcast #36. East Coast, Olympics Blew, America's Cup Might too!
08/17/2024

Tempesta talks to someone who actually knows stuff, as opposed to him. Will Sturdy from Brooklin Boat Yard, shares the latest from the East Coast. And Scot trashes both the Olympics and the America's Cup. Shocking, right?

Sailing Anarchy Podcast #35. North Swallows the World
08/02/2024

Tempesta spends an hour on the phone with hella good sailor Alex Camet on today's earth-shattering news that North Sails is acquiring both Quantum and Doyle sails. Like, holy shit!

Alex brings his years of experience to the podcast, which in truth, only makes tempesta look like the dodo he is!

Enjoy!

Sailing Anarchy Podcast #34. Olympics. Cayard. Boat search
07/25/2024

Clearly not on his "A" Game (hell, he doesn't even have a "C" Game), Mr. Tempesta goes off on the Olympics, Cayard, and then drags his dopey personal life into this.

He even talks about the Fisker Ocean, fer christ's sake.

Sailing Anarchy Podcast #33. Bow thrusters?
06/28/2024

Tempesta has weird thoughts. And today, he wants to talk to you about...Bow Thrusters? Okay...

But wait, there's more! He goes deep into the ludicrousness of having 30 sails for your TP 52.  All that, and more - listen up!

Sailing Anarchy Podcast #32. I lied!
06/12/2024

Oh I know - its hard to believe that your beacon of morality, me, has not told the truth. It's maybe not so much of a lie as it is breaking a promise, which I do all the time, but I am going to break another one: I am going sailboat racing tonight. Yes, I know I wouldn't, but I'll explain in this podcast.

Also, I am still looking for a 'Lumbo 30, I dreamt up a wildAC scenario that I'd like to see, and we've got a very, very cool exclusive feature coming up on SA that I...

Sailing Anarchy Podcast #31. They said no!
05/29/2024

Scot wants to look at and possibly buy. the owner and the broker say no! Also, Will Sturdy Chief Designer at Brooklin Boatyard talks about racing classics on the East Coast.

Sailing Anarchy Podcast #30. I Quit!
05/09/2024

No, I didn't quit Sailing Anarchy, nor quit doing podcasts, I quit racing sailboats! I'm done, finished, burnt out, tired, old - you name it. In my own little way, I've been there and done that and that's quite enough!

I'll still be commenting, and complaining, and critiquing, but ya won't see me on the race course unless it's on a powerboat!

SA Podcast #29. Ronnie Simpson
04/16/2024

Today Scot's guest is Ronnie Simpson, who sadly had his  Global Solo Challenge around the world cut short with a dismasting in treacherous waters. The story is incredible, so give it a listen!

SA Podcast #28. Brooklin Boatyard, why ocean racing isn't televised
04/12/2024

Here, Finally, someone other than Tempesta talks. Do you have any idea how hard it was to get that egomaniac to agree to this?

Today's guest is Will Sturdy, Chief Designer at Brooklin Boatyard. Enjoy!

Sailing Anarchy Podcast #27. Booze follow-up, Slow boats are fun, SailGP blows
03/29/2024

Scot tells us this is his best podcast ever. Sure buddy. Has he even done a decent one? You be the judge!

Sailing Anarchy Podcast #26
03/19/2024

Scot Tempesta gets into a subject - finally - that he knows something about - Booze. He actually has some sobering thoughts (haha) and you may wish to give this a listen.

Sailing anarchy Podcast #26. Offshore racing, boat carnage and me.
02/29/2024

Tempesta touches on a number of subjects, none particularly compelling, and of course, he has to bore you with another story about himself. Give it a rest, bro...

Sailing Anarchy Podcast #25. Dr Laura and a follow up with my concussion story.
02/08/2024

Oh boy, only Scot could screw up an invite to come sail, listen to her do her show, and have dinner With Dr. Laura Schlessinger. You really do have to listen to this one.

What a jackass!

Sailing Anarchy Podcast #24. Cayard getting sued, World Sailing Blows
02/01/2024

Tempesta starts off pleasant enough, talking about his damaged brain, but then goes into full rant mode. Listener beware!

Sailing Anarchy Podcast #23. I Fell and Hit my Head
01/04/2024

Your illustrious Editor talks about the Sydney to Hobart race, shares his podcast stats for 2023 (not that impressive),  talks about getting his ass kicked in J/22s, and finally how he fell and hit his head. He sounds as dopey as ever to us!
