Creating A Comic

The boys participate in another comedy competition and it makes Jake want to quit.... AGAIN. Caleb has a busy week full of comedy obtaining the status of a true road dawg. Talk about their love of McDonald's leads to the discovery of Boomer's disurbing food order. Finally, Boomer and Caleb poke fun at Jake while he relives his traumatic childhood. You're not gonna want to miss a moment of this one!

A couple morning beverages have the boys feeling loose and coming in hot! Caleb essentially quits doing comedy. Boomer hosts the open mic for the first, second, or possibly third time. Jake has a revelation on stage and finds inspiration from a friend who will remain nameless. The most productive bit segment ever leads to the fellas partying in a sauna, partying with soccor balls, and planning a bank heist just to party in the vault. This is what we play for baby!

Creationists, we're taking you to court! Not really, but we have the criminally funny and not yet wrongfully convicted comedian, podcaster, and tattooer Zaq Weaver on the show. On this episode, Boomer begs for a tattoo for his little friend, Jake considers going to prison to get chicks, and Caleb cross examines Zaq about historical crime and cinematic comedy. Trouble in paradise! This contentious episode kicks off with Caleb having another intro stolen from him, leaving him none too pleased. To no one's surprise, Jake starts getting angry and the boys have to talk him off the ledge. Boomer gets into a sweet flow state, the guys dive into a busy week of comedy, and Caleb goes to a diner after a comedy show, making him an official real comic... let him cook!

Go west, young Creationist! The dudes are in cowboy mode as they relive an epic, western-themed open mic, and say adios to two gems of the South Bend comedy community. Jake tries to keep his spurs from jingling and jangling, but gets sore feet. Boomer comes out guns blazing, but has to yell "woah!". And Caleb gets scared, but ain't no yellow belly! The thicc 3 get right down to business with the pressing issues; their hatred for cliches and Caleb's growing gnat infestation. Jake professes his love for a certain Tarantino movie while the other two inform him that he is flat out wrong and not entitled to his own opinions. To his surprise, Boomer gets a new deck and Caleb watches in horror as Jake and Boomer try hosting a mic for the first time. 

Get registered to vote this one a banger, cuz the guys are getting political! Not really, but Boomer does reveal who he's voting for, and the reason may surprise you! Also, the fellas bounce bits, see Amish people, and go over their latest performances. One of the trifecta gets pure hatred from an audience member, one of them see said audience member's panties, and another is named Boomer. Listen or the communists win!

Hear ye! Hear ye! The boys are back to talk comedy, hockey, Vegas, and buffets! To Jake's chagrin, Caleb and Boomer head to Las Vegas to get spherical and see Phish. Where sweet baby Caleb gets rocked to sleep by the crunchy tunes. Jake had the fellas shook with a new edgy, misogynistic joke (he loves you ladies). Most importantly, Boomer gets to bear witness as Jake and Caleb lift the coveted c-league hockey championship trophy. Strap in cause this episode is all over the damn place!

Calling all 8 or 9 Creationists! It's the 50th episode! That's pretty special, but what's even more special is that the hilarious comedian and all around awesome dude Brian Wells joined the thot three to celebrate. Brian is one of the guys' favorites, and you'll see why. Jake, Boomer, and Caleb bombard Brian with questions about his comedy journey, film, and brids. Can Brian handle the heat? Of course he can! I mean.. tune in to find out!

The 'night of fools' comedy show came and went with the boys performing in an escape room full of a whopping 10 people. They get to the bottom of conjoined twins geometry and discuss their favorite noodles (spoiler: Caleb's is chili mac). Exciting stuff! Lastly, Boomer bullies Jake for being clean and expresses his hatred for everything that the kids are doing these days. 

Oorah! The boys are reporting for duty with everyone's favortie Marine comic Brodie Long. He regales them with tales from his time in the Marine Corps and shares the details of his comedy journey. Jake attempts to steal valor yet again and pitching new bit ideas leaves them all with PTSD. So join up and go to war with Creating a Comic in their most heavily redacted episode yet!

An episode filled with nothing but love! The boys spread around compliments and accolades in celebration of not bombing at their first guest spots. Jake relives some traumatic experiences from his youth and the fellas share their thoughts on men's underwear options. 

The boys scrapped their last episode, so they make up a lot of ground on this one. Caleb rejoices in a new movie about lesbians (his favorite genre), while Jake and Boomer hit up a new mic in Kalamazoo. Did Jake walk a table of young ladies? Tune in to find out! Also... Jake is dumb 

Jake and Caleb dog sit Bowie while Boomer heads down Flordia way, resulting in Caleb losing any desire to have a dog. The classic curmudgeons (Boomer and Jake) were reluctant about going to open mic but are easily persuaded by Caleb to go. It works out for the best though as the big 3 all have their rarely exhibited decent sets. Finally, the boys pitch their new unpromising bits. What more could you want from an episode? The answer: nothing!

It's the 1 year podiversary! It's been a crazy comedy filled year, and boy do the big 3 sound tired. Tune in to hear how they're feeling about their progress (or lack there of), but don't listen while operating heavy machinery!

Holy Smokes! For the first time in the history of the pod the boys have a guest! It's their friend and comedy sensei Darryl Spencer. They get to know Darryl and get to the bottom of his comedy journey. The fellas get booked for their first weekend show and everyone gets down and dirty with some bits.  

Boomer and Jake head up to Grand Rapids and tell jokes to people that hate them. Caleb and Boomer recap the finals of the open mic contest. Did they win? Tune in to find out!

Merry Christmas from Creating A Comic! Santa came late this year but the boys exchange gifts from each other (well except for Jake who went all absentee dad and forgot). Caleb provides thoughtful gifts while Boomer is a grinch who hates Christmas music and possibly the holidays all together.

Jake starts off by lying to the listeners as the boys cover a couple weeks worth of open mics, including some new clubs! They nerd out about playing D&D and of course go over new bits (but not everyone wants to play). 

The fellas perform extremely just fine at their open mic. Also, Caleb establishes new standards & goals for himself, Boomer drives around, and Jake describes a disturbing game of cat and mouse. 

The boys, aka the thick three, discuss their latest open mic. Also Jacob transforms sweet little innocent mice into the summer rats they were always meant to be.

The boys feel like a woman on Halloween, but have a scary time at their open mic. Jake takes an axe to the crowd, Boomer gives a terrifying lecture, and Caleb gets spooked by a woman clapping. 

Surprise, surpise the boys saw Phish again! And if you're dying for the recap all you gotta do is listen. They also did comedy and to the surprise of everyone actually did okay. All that and more on this episode of no one's favorite podcast!

You're gonna need a shower after this one, because it's filthy! The boys get down right nasty discussing all the classic depraved and perverted topics. Things get so bad Caleb and Jake had to bathe, and Boomer had to apply more Secret.

Boomer calls non-comics "civilians" which nearly results in Jake and Caleb quitting the pod. The boys deal with a tough crowd at open mic and blame their lack of comedy skills on the audience. 

Boomer goes out west and befriends a squirrel! Jake becomes a fitness warrior! Caleb watches movies! All three have a little dingus! Portland sucks!!!

Wear a bib, cause this one's a hot mess! Jake encounters a perturbed woodsman, Boomer and Caleb meet a Kiwi rockstar, and all the boys get wet n' wild in an epic bit bukkake!

This episode gets raunchy as the boys assemble in a 'stumble' (bunch of white people floating down a river) of tubers. Along the journey Jake ruins cigarettes, Boomer burns his skin off, and Caleb gets saved by a big strong man. At open mic Jake improves and Caleb improvises. Also evil Caleb emerges as the heel of the episode, dun dun duuuun!!

An episode unpredictably recorded on a Thursday and things get weird. The boys regale you with tales from their trip to New York City and go over new joke ideas. Strap in, this one is nuts! 

The big three are in vacation mode but still grinding it out at open mics and on the pod couch. This week they experience their first comedy workshop, Jake goes noteless, and all the boys clean up (the tables) at the latest mic. 

The boys go to an open mic and discover the dark side of comedy. Caleb makes it onto the sign-up sheet but he gets bumped... or does he? Guess you'll have to listen and find out!

Caleb and Boomer contemplate changing their wicked ways while Jake continues to get jacked. The fellas discuss the sports they suck at and the hot teachers from thier childhood. Also the latest meeting of culture club goes all over the place! This episode is basically just for us, you've been fore warned. 

Another episode that is all over the damn place! Caleb starts bulking up to make varsity. Jake gets better at hockey and worse at motorcycles. The fellas celebrate America's birthday extra hard which leaves their minds, bodies, and homes wrecked. Oh yeah, and a fresh new load of bits!  

The boys survive a wild open mic! Caleb hogs Weak Updates, Boomer dribbles with his head up, and Jake makes it through his entire set!

The boys celebrate an open mic in style with a proper party. The beer leauge hockey draft results in a star-studded team. Jake does a hard reset on his comedy and comes in with fresh new bits to bless us with!
