Jesus Faces Annas and Caiaphas

Jesus Faces Annas and Caiaphas

John 18:12-14

It was the high priest that offered the blood upon the mercy seat for the forgiveness of sin once a year. That day was called the day of atonement.

It’s no coincidence that the lamb of God that taketh away the sins of the world went to the high priest. The Old Testament was a shadow of things to come, that is, Christ, a better in new living way.

Betrayal and Arrest of Jesus

Betrayal and Arrest of Jesus

The cup that Jesus talked about was the cup of the New Testament, in the book of Luke Jesus said ā€œThis cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.ā€ What can wash away my sin nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Sanctified through the Truth

Sanctified through the Truth

John 17:13-26

To be sanctified is to be set apart for God for his glory, for his pleasure, for his testimony that the lost and dying world may believe that he sent his only begotten Son to be the Savior of the world.

A Fervent Prayer
Last Thursday at 9:13 AM

A fervent Prayer

John 17:5-12

Jesus was fervently praying for his disciples. He knew that the religious world hated him, and they also would hate his disciples. He prayed fervently that his disciples would have the same oneness with God as he did. He fervently prayed that he would not lose any of his disciples to the world. His prayers were answered. We have a copy of the works of the apostles. Glory to his name. Thank you, Jesus, for praying for us.

The High Priestly Prayer
08/20/2025

The High Priestly Prayer

John 17:1-6

Every work that Jesus did and every word that he said glorified his Father, but the greatest work was him going to the cross to die for the sins of the whole world that people may know the Father and glorify him and to lift up Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

I Have Overcome the World
08/19/2025

I Have Overcome the World

John 16:25-33

There are a lot of people today that are trying to overcome things in their lives. Some are trying to overcome addictions, some are trying to overcome weight loss, and some are trying to overcome excessive spending. Jesus overcame the world, so you and I would have the power to be overcomers. There’s nothing that a Christian cannot overcome if they put their confidence in Jesus.

Your Sorrow Will Turn into Joy
08/15/2025

Your Sorrow Will Turn into Joy

John 16:16-24

The sorrow and the suffering of the cross, but the rejoicing at the resurrection. Peter had sorrow because he denied the Lord, but after he wept bitterly and repented, his sorrow was turned into joy. Judas had sorrow, but no repentance; only regret.

The Work of the Holy Spirit
08/14/2025

The Work of the Holy Spirit

John 16:4-15

Jesus just got done telling his disciples that the religious world hates the disciples and persecutes them because they are the disciples of Christ, but Jesus gives a message of comfort by sending the Holy Spirit that will guide them into all truth. Jesus said the truth will make you free, and you’ll be free indeed.

The Hatred of the World
08/13/2025

The Hatred of the World

John 15:18-27

The religious leaders of Jesus Day hated him. You can see the hatred they had for him by nailing him to the cross, but you can see the love that Jesus had for us by going to the cross.

I Am the True Vine
08/12/2025

I Am the True Vine

John 15:1-17

Israel was also known as Godā€˜s vine, but they were not true to God. The only way that we can bear fruit is to abide in the vine. Jesus puts loving one another at the top of the list. This is how people know that we are Christ disciples if we love one another.

Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit
08/08/2025

Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit

John 14:15-31

The promise of the Holy Spirit was fulfilled in Acts chapter 2 and is continually being fulfilled even today: the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and the life of the believer.

I Am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life
08/07/2025

I Am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life

John 14:1-14

I’m so thankful that there’s only one way to heaven. There’s only one person to trust. God made it so simple that even a child could believe and be saved. The world does not have a problem with the simplicity of salvation, but with the purity that salvation brings to one’s life.

Jesus Foretells Peter's Denial
08/06/2025

One of You Will Betray Me
08/01/2025

One of You Will Betray Me

John 13:21-30

Here we have the betrayal of Judas. He sells the Savior for 33 pieces of silver. It’s hard to fathom that he would do such a thing, but when Satan has control of your life, then unimaginable things will be committed.

Jesus Washes the Disciples' Feet
07/31/2025

Jesus Washes the Disciples' Feet

John 13:1-20

One of the last things that Jesus did for his disciples was to wash their feet. Peter didn’t understand what the Lord was doing, but after the resurrection. He clearly understood that Christ was teaching humility and servitude.

Jesus Came to Save the World
07/30/2025

Jesus Came to Save the World

John 12:44-50

Praise God, he sent a Savior. Jesus Christ; without Christ, we cannot have peace with God. We would have no joy without Christ. We would not know what true love is, but praise God, because of Christ we have , love, joy, and peace.

ā€œAnd if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.ā€

The Unbelief of the People
07/29/2025

The Unbelief of the People

John 12:36-43

Elijah saw Christ many years before he ever came, but some of the people could not even see Christ nor his works, and they were standing right in front of him. Blindness of eyes and hardness of heart. The prophet said, ā€œLet us not read the scriptures with blindness, no hardness of heart, but let us search diligently and see Jesus.ā€

''But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him''

The Son of Man Must Be Lifted Up
07/25/2025

The Son of Man Must Be Lifted Up

John 12:27-35

Jesus gave his life for the sins of the whole world that man may repent and turn to God.

The apostle, John said And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world

The apostle Paul said

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

That at the name of Jesus every knee should...

Some Greeks Seek Jesus
07/24/2025

Some Greeks Seek Jesus

John 12:20-26

The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus.

These Greeks had a desire to see Jesus For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:

The apostle Paul said,

But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;

But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of...

The Triumphal Entry
07/23/2025

The Triumphal Entry

John 12:12-19

This was a glorious day, people lifting up Jesus as the king of kings and the Lord of Lords, but how much glorious when Jesus comes back riding on a white horse and the clouds of glory with a sharp sword in his hand to defeat the devil and his angels and all the wicked and to set up his kingdom forever and ever.

The Plot to Kill Lazarus
07/22/2025

The Plot to Kill Lazarus

John 12:9-11

This seems to be a common theme for the unbelieving Jewish leaders to kill the prophets. Remember, they killed John the Baptist, they stoned Stephen. Eventually, all the disciples of the Lord were killed, even Paul the apostle. Why? Because they were pointing people to Jesus. Jesus was right when he said, ā€œYour father is the devil, and he is a murderer.ā€

Mary Anoints Jesus at Bethany
07/18/2025

Mary Anoints Jesus at Bethany

John 12:1-8

Martha was serving the Lord. Lazarus was sitting with the Lord, and Mary was sacrificing to the Lord. What a beautiful lesson for all of us to learn: at times we sit with the Lord, at times we serve the Lord, and at other times we sacrifice to the Lord.

The Plot to Kill Jesus
07/17/2025

The Plot to Kill Jesus

And one of them, named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all

This statement was said of religious leaders that they knew nothing at all. They know a lot about religion. They know a lot about their laws and their rules, but they do not know Christ, how sad to know nothing of the power of Christ, the forgiveness of Christ, the blessings of Christ. Let us fall down today and worship Christ Jesus alone.

Jesus Raises Lazarus
07/16/2025

Jesus Raises Lazarus

John 11:38-44

How can people so ignorantly say that Jesus was just a man or a good teacher or a prophet? If you were sitting there and saw such a miracle, would you walk away with unbelief?

Listen to the words of the Rich Man and Luke chapter 16. And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they would repent.

And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from...

Jesus Weeps
07/15/2025

Jesus Weeps

ā€œJesus weptā€

This is the shortest verse found in the Bible Paul the apostle wrote Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep what a blessing to have a Savior that knows our deepest sorrows

I Am the Resurrection and the Life
07/11/2025

I Am the Resurrection and the Life

John 11:17-27

This is not the first time that Jesus spoke about the resurrection in John chapter 5. he said Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,

And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

The Death of Lazarus
07/10/2025

The Death of Lazarus

This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.

This story teaches us that the Son of God has power over sickness and power over death. Paul, the apostle, writes, ā€œ O death, where is thy sting?ā€ O grave, where is thy victory?

The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ But thanks be to God...

I and the Father Are One
07/09/2025

I and the Father Are One

ā€œMy sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:ā€

What a blessing to hear the voice of God, to have direction from God, to know his doctrine, to know that your name is written in the Lamb’s book of life, to know that you’re not following something vain, but following the great and eternal, everlasting God.

I Am the Good Shepherd
07/08/2025

I Am the Good Shepherd

ā€œI am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mineā€

In our society today, we have a lot of substitutes we substitute a relationship with God for religion we substitute good works for God’s Grace we substitute morality for repentance we substitute success for surrender self helps for the Holy Spirit

We substitute comfort for conviction we substitute man’s approval for God’s favor why in the world would anyone wanna substitute Jesus?

Persisting in the absence of sight
07/04/2025

Persisting in the absence of sight

John 9:24-41

Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?

The Pharisees were persistently in the absence of sight. How they said to give God the glory for this miracle but yet called the one that did the miracle a sinner. They also called the one that was born with blindness a sinner. The only sinners that I see here are the Pharisees that rejected Jesus as the son...

Resisting Reality
07/03/2025

Resisting Reality

ā€œTherefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the sabbath dayā€

The Pharisees were resisting the reality that this man was born blind. They also were resisting the reality that Jesus Christ was the son of God.

They perverted the Sabbath day when they rejected the mercies of God done on this day. How many people take something that is right and weaponize it because of their own greed, power, and authority?

Jesus Heals a Man Born Blind
07/02/2025

Jesus Heals a Man Born Blind

ā€œI must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can workā€

This story started out with the disciples questioning why this man was blind. They thought it was because of sin, but Jesus said it was for the glory of God. Not all sickness is a result of sin; it rains upon the just and the unjust alike. I believe that Jesus is using this miracle to show the blindness of the unbelieving Jews. What is worse: to be p...

Before Abraham Was, I Am
07/01/2025

Before Abraham Was, I Am

John 8:48-59

Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself?

The religious leaders of Jesus’ day were blind; they refused his words, his wonderful works. It was sad that they knew all about Abraham, Moses, and David, but could not make the connection after the apostle Paul’s conversion. He made the connection. He found Jesus everywhere in the Old Testament.

If God were your Father, ye would love Jesus
06/27/2025

If God were your Father, ye would love Jesus

ā€œIf God were your Father, ye would love meā€

It’s impossible to love the father without loving his only begotten son. Jesus said that these Pharisees’ father was the devil because they were trusting in the lie of the devil.

The apostle Paul warned us of the antichrist. Even he, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the trut...

The Truth Will Make You Free
06/26/2025

The Truth Will Make You Free

ā€œIf the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeedā€

Before we were saved, we were in bondage to sin, but now that we have been born again by the Spirit of the living God through the blood of Jesus Christ, we have been made free, not free to continue in sin, not free to do our own will, but free to do his will.

The apostle Paul said, ā€œ But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us.ā€

Eve...

The Light of Life
06/25/2025

The Light of Life

ā€œhe that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of lifeā€

Jesus is the light of the world. Light represents truth. Darkness represents a lie. The Pharisees were not walking in truth. The truth was right in front of them, but they could not see nor hear the truth because they were trusting in themselves and their own righteousness. Paul, the apostle, dealt with these people, and this is what he said about them.

For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to e...

The Woman Caught in Adultery
06/24/2025

The Woman Caught in Adultery

John 8:1-11

ā€œhe stooped down, and wrote on the groundā€

An early morning Bible study with Jesus got interrupted by the Pharisees, who brought in the temple a woman that got caught in the act of adultery. But oh did they get a surprise! Instead of focusing on this woman’s sin, Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground, being convicted by their own conscience. They went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last. Jesus was not interested in broadcasting their sin. To oth...

Division Among the People
06/20/2025

Division Among the People

John 7:40-52

ā€œSo there was a division among the people because of himā€

Can I say there’s still divisions today because of a lack of understanding of who Jesus really is John said Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world Peter said Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God Thomas said thou art my Lord and God the centurion said Truly this man was the Son of God. Human reasoning and religion will blind you from seeing who Jesus really...

Rivers of Living Water
06/19/2025

Rivers of Living Water

John 7:37-39

Just as Jesus spoke, anJeremiah prophesied, therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation. Praise God it happened the outpouring of the Holy Ghost upon the Jews in Acts chapter 2 upon the Samaritans in Acts chapter 8, and also upon the Gentiles in Acts chapter 10 just as Moses smote the rock and water came out. Jesus was crucified, and now we have the Holy Ghost living in us. The apostle Paul said, ā€œ What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Gh...
