This sermon was preached on Resurrection Sunday 2026. In this sermon, we take a look at Matthew 28:1-20 and will see that the cross was not the end. Instead, the resurrection of Christ demands a response. Jesus commissioned those initial disciples with what we know as the Great Commission. Just like with those initial disciples, the resurrection also demands a response from us.

When a thief comes in the night, it is always unexpected and it comes as a great shock. Similarly, when Jesus returns, it will be unexpected to those people who are not truly following Jesus.
