Fake German heiress Anna Sorokin conned her way into Manhattan society.

Posing as Anna Delvey, a German heiress, she swindled banks, hotels, and friends out of more than $200,000. She forged checks to get money from banks and charmed people into paying for extravagant meals and travel.

Sorokin was convicted on a handful of grand larceny and theft of services charges. Tyrassa Cacique Williams, 19, is last seen at the Stoneybrook Apartments in Greenboro, North Carolina. She tells family she is going to meet a friend and will be back in about an hour.  She isn't.   Investigators believe Williams had gone to meet an ex‑boyfriend.  He admitted to being with her in his vehicle for about 30 minutes, but she left the car and began walking toward her grandmother’s apartment.  Her phone stopped working shortly after.

Just weeks after a judge said says Rex Heuerman  "will go to trial come hell or high water," the accused serial killer pleads guilty to all seven murders for which he's charged, and an additional murder.  Heuermann, originally claimed his innocent. Jared McColloch has been missing for going on three years.   November 2023, he set out on a trip from Louisiana to Illinois to see his son.   He was last seen on November 5, at a gas station in Carmi, Illinois, and possibly later in St. Francisville, Illinois.  His truck was found abandoned on the next day in a remote area near the Wabash River in Knox County, Indiana. Missy Bevers arrives at Creekside Church at 4:16 AM and begins setting up for her 5 AM fitness class.

She doesn't realize that someone else is in the building. Video surveillance shows a person dressed in full police SWAT tactical gear walking through the halls of the church with an unusual gait while clutching a hammer.  

Shortly before 5 AM, one of Bevers' students arrives, finding Bevers' body inside the church.  Bevers has puncture wounds to her head and chest. The student calls 911. In minutes, police and rescue arrive, and Missy Bevers is pronounced dead on the scene. 

Los Angeles prosecutors set a preliminary hearing date for D4vd, who may face death penalty for the sexual abuse, stabbing, and dismemberment of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. When Iowa TV news anchor Jodi Huisentruit fails to show up for her morning show, coworkers know something is wrong. Huisentruit's red Mazda Miata is still in the parking lot, as well as other evidence that suggests a struggle had taken place near the car. The FBI and other federal agencies are investigating the deaths and disappearances of more than a dozen top scientists and personnel tied to NASA, Los Alamos Nation Laboratory and  classified military research.   The remains of Los Alamos worker Melissa Casias were found in Carson National Forest  nearly a year after she vanished. Police records revealed that missing retiree Anthony Chavez had been researching quantum physics with a Los Alamos scientist.

In 2019, Christine Holloway, 43, was found dead in her bathtub, beaten. Her 14‑month‑old daughter, Vanessa Morales, vanished.   Police arrested Jose Morales, 48, Vanessa's father, for the murder. He testified two intruders broke into the apartment, one of them attacked Holloway with a crowbar, and then took the child.  Morales claimed he was high on PCP, unable to stop the attack.  Prosecutors alleged Morales struck Holloway repeatedly with a blunt object. He then cleaned the scene for 37 hours,  disposing of the blood‑soaked evidence. Morales was convicted in April last year of murder and evidence tampering, sentenced  to 65 years in prison.

Portions were redacted by the court.  Erika Kirk and Charlie Kirk's parents are fighting for his full  interview to be released.

Lots of new information coming from Tyler Robinson's preliminary hearing. The defense is disputing DNA evidence saying investigative reports note Robinson's roommate/lover DNA was on the towel and screwdriver found at the murder scene. 

Prosecutors unveiled new videos on which traced Robinson's movement across campus, show that he made contact with Charlie Kirk's group before the event.

Tyler Robinson stands accused of assassinating conservative activist Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University just under a year ago.  He's been charged with aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm, obstruction of justice, witness tampering, and a violent offense in the presence of a child, with intent to seek the death penalty.

Today Robinson laughed and joked with his attorney before testimony began. As the graphic testimony continued, Charlie Kirk's wife cried and she and Kirk's parent left the courtroom. She describes the proceedings as a “painful reminder” of her husband’s death.

The investigation into Nancy Guthrie's disappearance enters its sixth month as an anonymous FBI official says  at least three ransom-related letters sent to media outlets are not authentic.  The FBI tested the first note by depositing cryptocurrency into the provided wallet address — the funds were never touched. A jury finds Sean "Diddy" Combs guilty of two counts relating to transporting individuals for prostitution, but the rap mogul is acquitted of the more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy.   After the verdict, Combs' attorneys ask for bail. He doesn't get it, instead getting a 50-month prison sentence. Now  Combs is scheduled to be released from federal prison on February 23, 2028.This date has been adjusted or changed at least four times.

New reports say the FBI determined ransom notes related to Nancy Guthrie were fake.   TMZ's Harvey Levin pushed back on the claim, having received several of the notes. Less than 24 hours later, FBI bosses say they've not made a ruling either way.   Investigators continue to treat her disappearance as an active case, with DNA and video evidence still under forensic review.  Now, who to believe?

Mackenzie Shirilla is serving 15 years to life at the Ohio Reformatory for Women, convicted on 12 counts, including murder and aggravated vehicular homicide.  Police say Shirilla deliberately crashing her car into a brick building at 100 mph. Two passengers were killed, Shirilla's boyfriend, Dominic Russo, and their friend, Davion Flanagan. Data from the car's black box showed Shirilla floored the gas pedal and never used the brakes, making calculated steering and gear adjustments before impact.  She was 17 at the time.

Alex Murdaugh's second murder trial in the deaths of his wife and son is now scheduled for April of 2027.  His 2023 convictions were overturned by the South Carolina Supreme Court which ruled  former Colleton County Clerk of Court Rebecca “Becky” Hill improperly influenced the jury.  Murdaugh remains incarcerated  for 22 state financial crimes and 14 federal charges serving both sentences concurrently, unaffected by the murder retrial.  

 A status hearing is set for August for Judge Debra McCaslin  to decide pending motions on a change of venue and allowing independent DNA testing of samples from under Maggie Murdaugh’s fingernails, among others.
