The first OC Riptide Podcast of the season! The Riptide have been on a four game win streak, as the podcast crew talks with Head Coach Connor Spencer and 2nd baseman Luke Johnson along with a CCL Standings Update.

The Orange County Riptide went 2-2 on the week but ended the week on a high note, sweeping a doubleheader on Saturday against the San Luis Obispo Blues to win the weekend series on the road. The Riptide finish the regular season 20-15 in CCL play and they’ll be the #2 seed for the CCL South Playoffs. They’ll take on #3 Conejo Oaks Tuesday, August 1 at 7 p.m. at the Irvine Great Park.

The second to last week of the regular season saw the OC Riptide alternate between wins and loses and ended the week 2-3. Despite playing below .500 baseball, the Riptide remain solidly in second place in the CCL South Division standings behind the Santa Barbara Foresters.

The Foresters have opted to not participate in the CCL playoffs which equates to the Riptide sitting in second place makes the team the top seed in the south division and in good position to either the wild card or the divisional championship games. After ending last week on a hot streak, the OC Riptide cooled off a bit coming off the CCL Showcase Game break. The Riptide went 1-4 coming off the break and rewmain in second place in the CCL Southern Division, 2.5 games back of the Santa Barbara Foresters.
