Poetic Philosophy is a show where I talk about my worldview from a poetic perspective using entertainment, news, politics, spirituality or anything else that I can think about in the moment. I love to travel and may use soundseeing in my show as I try and stay creative in the magic of life and enjoy the journey of life because we only go around life once, unless you believe in reincarnation.

146 Poetic Philosophy - Let Go
by Robert G Parent

Yoda once said, that you must let go what you fear to lose.  Why?  We put a little of our energy into our stuff.  If we put too much of our energy into stuff, we weaken what we can do in a particular circumstance because our possibilities will be less.   We give our money, our time,  our health physical and mental into protecting, caring, and organizing our stuff. We scatter our energy instead of being focused them. Maybe, that's why stuff doesn't get done.

I have old...

145 Poetic Philosophy
by Robert G Parent

We enter a new time,  a time where we acknowledge the darkness within the human psyche.  Where we grow beyond the darkness, not in fear,  but in overcoming that darkness because it is confronting our adversary that we can grow beyond it. In Matthew 5, it is said to love our adversary.  Why would it say that?

There is wisdom in the bible, but we read it with the beliefs that we carry at that point of reading it changes how we understand that verse.  Our beliefs are the programs...

142 Poetic Philosophy
by Robert G Parent

Autumn is a time of reflection, where we reflect on our harvest or loss from our summer work.  We are all at a new place at this time because life continues to change us.  We continue to grow and learn our lessons of the good and bad stuff that happened to us in this cycle. We think things are difficult now, but every cycle has its own story that changes us through its own challenges.  Autumn is a time to reflect on where we've been and where we choose to go...

140 Poetic Philosophy -- Higher Purpose

This show is about people and writers working together because alone we each have a limited sight.  It is only together that we can have vision and see a bigger picture.

BSG ( Battlestar Galactica) The syfy channel remake was successful because they had a group of writers working together with a producer guiding them.

Ancient Japan had a group of poets  writing haiku in the edo period from 1603 to 1868 during renga and renku gatherings.

Writers work best together. When you have a group of creative and talent...

139 Poetic Philosophy  - a place of peace

When I'm stuck in writing a poem or any other piece of writing, I come up with the idea,  maybe the first stanza, or even a first chapter, then I ask an AI client, I use Grok3, for ideas to finish the piece. Before AI, I just played around with words and ideas. With AI, I still play around with words and ideas.

AI will not think for us because we need to be the ones to initiate a project. AI can help us organize our ideas, but the...

138 Poetic Philosophy
by Robert G Parent

We don't know how connected we really are in today's modern world where everything out there tries to separate us.  Yes, we do have to stay in our metaphorical lanes so society can run sufficiently, but we are driving on a multi-lane highway, and our goals and desires are done with everyone else's goals and desires.  Remember, as you stay creative in the magic of life, respect other's spaces to be and to grow.  As the poet says,  we all work together even though we're apart.

The three poems i...

137 Poetic Philosophy -- Peace be still

In the hurricane of life's activities, life keeps us off balance. But if we can find stillness within the storm, we will find a way and be a success in our endeavors. It's the storms of life that teach us how to be.

The poems in today's show are: "What Does Stay revised," "Wisdom in Stillness revised," and "Children of Creation revised." Yes, I've revised these poems from "Spellbook of the Poet" because a poem can be said in many ways and changes as the poet changes.

136 Poetic Philosophy -- Hope
by Robert G Parent

In this podcast, I share some new poetry I  wrote with the help of Grok3 about the dark side and hope.  "The Desires of the Flesh Time" is about diabetes, but you could view this as a metaphor. "Wetiko" is about the mind virus of myth and of today.  "Guilt" is a poem from the perspective of ACIM and rounds this trilogy up nicely.  Enjoy the show and stay creative in the magic of life.

Hello everyone, welcome to Poetic Philosophy episode 134. This episode is all about the Ballad as a poetic form.  stay tuned.

I've been working with Grok3 for many hours on creating 3 ballad poems. Not just story writers spend time perfecting their work, but poets too. If you want any creative work to be as good as you can,  you have to put the time in.  Journaling and an ai LLM are good tools of any creative person.

The three poems in this episode are: "The Ballad of the Poet's Soul," "The Ballad of the Monads' Dance," and "T...

The Journey

The three poems  "My Pilgrimage," "A Poet's Journey," and "Contemplation," from my book, A Soul's Journey, talks of the journeys we take through our lives. We start on a path, achieve knowledge, turn that knowledge into wisdom, and in reflection of that journey gain an understanding of our life. This time, times of the past, and those times yet to come teach us something different, which is added to our individual and collective knowledge and again when pondered on gaining understanding.  This is the spiral of life as life continues to bring us...

131 Poetic Philosophy
by Robert G Parent

There are only two forces within this universe, the light and the love, but what about evil or darkness. Both light and love exist in degrees.  Evil or badness are a part of the love energy  but on a lower degree.  We all know love can turn to hate,  and hate can be redeemed into a higher vibration of love.  We live in a universe of the pair of opposites. Ponder on this idea as you go about your day.  Thank you for listening. Stay creative in the magic of life...

Poetic Philosophy episode 129

In today's show,  I have more poems from "Spellbook of the Poet" that are about our connection to soul.

Our lives here are about wandering through the valley of the shadow of death, also known as this planet and the universe, using our inner light of soul,  of the true God.

God is a lamp unto our feet, and when our hearts are right, not only do we see the true light,  we show others the true light, and that helps others see that light within thems...

127 Poetic Philosophy - Our Journey
by Robert G Parent

The three poems in today's podcast are "Wisdom in Stillness, " "The Hero's Journey, " and "Children of Creation. " These poems are from my book "Spellbook of the Poet."

Our life's true meaning starts with finding the "Wisdom in Stillness." As we meditate on the silence, we start 'The Hero's Journey" and move through our experiences in life where we learn the art of creation and, by the time we near our Ascension to heaven, we become "Children of Creation."

126 Poetic Philosophy - Storms
by Robert G Parent

The three poems in today's podcast are "The Road Continues," "Storms Wake," and "Maps of Meaning." The first two poems I wrote with AI assistance and some editing. AI is great tool to get and experiment with ideas when you're stuck in your writing. It's like being in your own writers group. "Maps of Meaning" is a poem that I wrote a while ago.

We travel the storms that life gives us because of boredom. If we didn't have storms and this current life, where...

125 Poetic Philosophy Light and Shadow
#125
02/23/2025

The poems in this podcast are inspired by this chapter and verse in Matthew 5. We tend to ignore the shadow side and only focus on the positive and the good,  but that shadow side is a part of us too. The story of Cain and Able say as much. As "The Light of Death" shows us that rebirth is always happening.  Every day in this world gives us a chance to change, to see things different, to be reborn.  The poem "The Wayward Ones" gives us a chance to look at our shadow side, the side of us we hid...

Part of writing, art, or idea generation is all about play. So play.

118 Poetic Philosophy - A Soul's Journey

12/08/2024

This collection of poetry in "A Soul's Journey" are poems that I've written early in my writing career.  I did lots of traveling to The Robert Frost Place in Franconia, NH, to the A.R.E. in Virginia Beach, Va, to hikes in the White Mountains of NH. I spent time observing my outer and inner universes. Every poet does this on some level, which makes for great insight. If you want to do anything from writing to art to business, you need to observe your outer universe. If you're lucky, you'll observe your inner universe as well.

Two Paths 117 Poetic Philosophy
#117
11/30/2024

In poetry, the symbol, metaphor, of the two paths is a popular one because I think the two paths are all about decision, which is one of the most important principles we have in our life. Why? Because, decision changes everything in our lives. We make decisions everyday and even not making a decision is making a decision. These three poems of "Days of Darkness," "Vanlife Comes," and "You must go and Know" are all about the principle of decision. The Last poem "You must go and Know" is about myself when I started to write poetry. Why did...

November Memories

We're entering the time of Thanksgiving.  This holiday is an American one started by George Washington many years ago because he was thankful for the end of the Revolutionary War. Now, many, many years past, we forget how it was without the freedoms we enjoy now. Oh yes, we had a pandemic where it was even hard to buy food or even go over to your family for the holidays. I think that it was harder back then.  But, we've had many difficult times in our history, and we managed to come out. We've also had...

All the poems in today's show are about the imagination. It's the greatest gift that our creator gave us. With this gift, we can create new inventions, new ways to being, and new ways that our lives can take. If we can imagine it within our mind, we can create it and in fact we do create our lives by what we focus on. So as you go about your day, focus on what your dreams are, and always stay created in the magic of life.

114 Poetic Philosophy - Soul Secrets
#114
11/10/2024

We walk through our life, doing the everyday routine of work, eat, and sleep. We yearn for that which is unseen. We know something is there because on some level we feel it. This is the magic within life that all of us are connected to.  Our mind is the link to this, to soul, the higher part of ourselves that is closest to our creator and is a part of this creator. Once we know this we come closer to understanding the Great Mystery of God. God is everywhere and is everything. Ponder on this as you go a...

11/06/2024

The air starts to get colder as our lives begin to change again. We all move as our environment moves, not the hustle of daily life, but the slower time of the seasons, even though the seasons may be a little mixed up,  our bodies remember the spring of new beginnings, the summer of maturity, the fall where we get out harvest of either good or bad, and the winter where we rest for a time to prepare for a new beginning. We move through our seasons within our experiences. This is what connects us, but also something deeper, a...

112 Poetic Philosophy - Halloween
#112
10/28/2024

October ends in the most poetic holiday of the autumn.  It's in Halloween and the day of the dead,  where we remember those who have passed into that other place. Our life of preparation in Summer's Time, where we work, play, and enjoy the life that we have, ends in a good harvest in the autumn, where the leaves fall from the tree before it goes into hibernation to sleep,  to rest, and maybe to dream,  but what dreams do trees have.  Do they dream of the past or future,  or maybe they just be.  Is this like our dream w...

October Night - Poetic Philosophy 111

10/20/2024

Autumn continues here in the northeast of this country. We are also getting close to Halloween, so the vail between this world and the spirit world is thinner and because of this we can get a glimpse of the unseen world. We also know that the seen and unseen exist as one like two sides of the same coin. The poems in this podcast tell the story of the mystery between the seen and unseen that our destiny is based on embracing the real, which is neither the seen or unseen, but the coin. I wrote "Dead Like Me...

Autumn brings us shorter days and  longer shadows, which gets us to the Halloween season. We are captivated by this holiday and how it effects our psyche. As night gets longer, we wonder about the unseen reality. Even before the official beginnings of Halloween there was all souls or all saints day. This time of the approaching darkness of winter is where we start wondering about death because before Christmas this time was truly a dark and depressing time. Hope you enjoy the show and always remember to stay creative in the magic of life.
