With a chance to punch their ticket to the Frozen Four, UMass suffered a heartbreaking 2-1 loss at the hands of 1-seeded Western Michigan. Cameron and Evin are here to recap this wild game, and put a bow on what has been an overall incredibly successful season of UMass Hockey.

UMass just STUNNED Minnesota in the NCAA Regional Semifinal, storming back from a 3-1 deficit in the third period and eventually scoring the game winner in overtime to move on to Western Michigan in the Regional Final! Cameron and Evin are here to talk all about it, just minutes after Suniev scored in OT, and preview the next game with a trip to St. Louis on the line!

UMass has officially clinched their spot in their 6th NCAA tournament in program history, and are set up for a 2022 Regional Semifinal rematch with 2 seed Minnesota on Thursday night in Fargo, North Dakota! Cameron and Evin are here to preview this matchup, and get out all of their excited/anxious thoughts about what is sure to be a nail-biting do or die game.

The top-10 finalists for the 2025 Hobey Baker award just got announced, and Cole O'Hara (and others from Hockey East) were inexplicably left out. Cameron and Evin share their thoughts and frustration on the decision in a quick impromptu episode.

UMass went on the road to play BU in the Hockey East Quarterfinals with a trip to TD Garden on the line, and they suffered a heartbreaking overtime loss in what was an unbelievable short handed effort. Cameron and Evin are here to break down every aspect of this game, including some incredible individual and team efforts from the Minutemen.

UMass kicked off the Hockey East tournament with an Opening Round matchup versus 11-seed Vermont, and came away with a hard fought 2-1 win behind a stout defensive effort! UMass took on their rival UMass Lowell in a MASSIVE home and home series with major playoff implications and got the job done, securing 5 Hockey East points and some stable footing in the Pairwise ranks! Cameron and Evin are here to talk all about this series, Coach Carvel becoming the winningest coach in program history, preview the final series of the year with Maine, and break down all the possible Hockey East and National tournament possibilities.

UMass took on UNH for the first time this season in a home and home series that had MASSIVE Hockey East and Pairwise implications. Cameron and Evin are here to break down a couple of weird performances from UMass that weren't very convincing, but did somewhat get the job done with 4/6 Hockey East points, and discuss everything you need to know about the team's playoff picture with 4 regular season games remaining!

UMass played their toughest opponent of the season over the weekend (#1 BC) and split the series, with the win coming on the road at Conte Forum! Cameron and Evin are here to break down everything that happened in this series, including what may very well be the biggest regular season win in program history! This is the longest High Character episode of all time so far, so buckle up!

Nathan Strauss once again joins the show, this time to talk all about #18 UMass' MASSIVE comeback road victory against #11 UConn! Him, Cameron, and Evin also dive deep into a bunch of other UMass Hockey topics, including Jack Musa's hat trick, Coach Carvel's incredible college coaching career, the upcoming home and home with #1 BC, the team's best road to the national tournament, and much more!

One of the weirder scheduling weekends for UMass ends with a nice win at home over Merrimack, and a heartbreakingly close loss up in Maine. Cameron and Evin are here to break down all the action from both games, and to detail what is at stake for UMass with 9 games remaining in the regular season.

Cameron and Evin sat down with former Minuteman, two time Hockey East Champion, and National Champion Anthony Del Gaizo to talk all about his years at UMass and beyond! Anthony was a cornerstone of some of the best UMass teams in program history, and it was incredible getting some insight into the golden years of UMass Hockey, and his career!

UMass FINALLY got their first sweep of this season, and it came in their very last non-conference regular season games against Alaska Fairbanks! Cameron and Evin are here to break down a bunch of good from the weekend, shout out some Patreon members, and discuss how the team is much closer to the National Tournament right now than you might expect...

It's time for another arena review, and this time we're back down in the desert to take a deeper look at Mullett Arena, home of Arizona State and the Desert Hockey Classic! This place hosted NHL games less than a year ago, so surely it should rank pretty highly on Cameron and Evin's rankings... right?

UMass just split their fifth straight two game series (this one makes it three weekends in a row), this time in a home-and-home with Hockey East foe Merrimack. Cameron and Evin are here to break down all the good and the bad from the weekend, including one of the most surprising Carvy quotes we've ever seen.

Cameron and Evin sat down with one of the assistant coaches of the Minutemen, Tommy Upton, to talk all things UMass and beyond! This was an awesome conversation (in our opinions maybe the best interview we've ever recorded), and gave us some great insight into the program and Tommy's career.

UMass restarted their Hockey East schedule with a home and home series against Northeastern, and one game went just about as well as possible, while the other game was the exact opposite. Cameron and Evin are here to break down everything that happened, and have some difficult conversations about why this team is so inconsistent this year.

The long December break is finally over, and UMass Hockey is BACK! Cameron and Evin are here to recap UMass' games in the 2025 Desert Hockey Classic, which included a 4-2 loss to #16 Cornell and an 8-0 blowout of Robert Morris, as well as some VERY interesting quotes from Coach Carvel unlike any we've ever heard.

UMass finally got their long awaited win against BU, coming in stunning shutout fashion on the road in a game that included five (5!!!) goaltender interference calls. Cameron and Evin are here break down everything that happened in this game, as well as the 4-2 defeat at Mullins Center that wrapped up this crazy first half ending series split.

Only one game for UMass Hockey over Thanksgiving Weekend, and they got the job done against Army. Cameron and Evin are here to break down this contest, and discuss where the team stands ahead of their big time series with BU this upcoming weekend.

UMass played two games against two different opponents over the weekend, with one game going very well, and one not so much. Cameron and Evin are here to break down both games, and try to wrap their heads around where this team is at as we near the end of the first half.

Cameron and Evin got the chance to sit down with Steve Trachtenberg, the outgoing Director of Hockey Operations to talk about his time at UMass! In this episode they discuss Steve's rise through the program's ranks, what his role entailed, his favorite UMass memories, and much more. This is the first episode of the 2024-25 season, and it kicks off High Character's fourth season of UMass Hockey coverage!

UMass played their hearts out against 1 seed (and eventual National Champion) Denver, but their season ended on a heartbreaking 2-1 loss in double overtime in Springfield. Cameron and Evin are here to breakdown this game and much more, including recapping the rest of the national tournament, awarding their season long awards and discussing how they compare to their preseason superlatives, and discussing all the movement with this year's roster. UMass got torched by BC in their Hockey East semifinal game at TD Garden, but more importantly, they have clinched their fifth NCAA tournament appearance in program history! UMass swept Lowell in the home and home on the back of two Ryan Ufko overtime game winners, but only got four out of six Hockey East points doing it. Cameron and Evin are here to recap both games, and discuss the position they put UMass in heading into the final weekend of the regular season.
