After an initial discussion talking the group's recent outing in Atlanta and Big Eyes' upcoming Kaiju No. 8 episode, they dive deep into the series catching listeners up to the plot, discussing why this arc's ending may be so polarizing, praise the development of Shikamaru, and discuss why the Akatsuki is such a great anime group to develop a series around.

LJ and AD begin 2025 with their review of One Piece's Fishman Island Saga, starting with the Return to Sabaody Arc (Episode 517) and leading into the Straw Hat Pirate's arrival to Fishman Island (Episode 527).

This week, the hosts tap in with another of their favorite anime battles in Hunter x Hunter's climactic bout between Gon & the Chimera Ant, Pitou. Tune in as they cover the events leading up to their bout, the missed opportunities that the 2011 anime had in adding emotional weight to their reason for clashing against one another & the effect that an entire story arc's worth of events had on Gon Freeces that would change the series of Hunter x Hunter dramatically from there on.
