WrestleMania III remains one of the biggest spectacles in all of pro wrestling (and sports entertainment). Originally a house show that was later released as WWF Coliseum home video, The Big Event took place at Exhibition Stadium in Toronto, Canada on August 28, 1986. With Junkyard Dog vs Adrian Adonis, Jake Roberts vs Ricky Steamboat, and Hulk Hogan vs Paul Orndorff as just a few of the show's big matches, and a live crowd of over 60,000 people (or 70,000 depending on who's counting), the show definitely had potential. In a show not so dissimilar from the previous Great American Bash covered on the previous WHS Super Show, Dusty Rhodes challenges Ric Flair for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship inside a steel cage! Listen as we discuss that and every other match from the July 26th, 1986 Great American Bash event!

In 1986, the Great American Bash wasn't just a show, it was a series of shows in which NWA World Heavyweight Champion had to defend his title at each one. Listen to the latest WHS Super Show retro review to hear all about the July 5th, 1986 Great American Bash from Charlotte, North Carolina, the night Ric Flair descended from the sky in a helicopter to defend his title in a steel cage. 

Airing on May 6th, 1986, less than a month after WrestleMania 2, the British Bulldogs defended their newly-won tag titles against Nikolai Volkoff and The Iron Sheik, Adrian Adonis really wanted to wrestle Paul Orndorff, and Hulk Hogan teamed with The Junkyard Dog to take on the Funk brothers. With all of those matches plus Jake "The Snake" Roberts versus Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat, this has to be one of the greatest Saturday Night's Main Events of all time, right? Right?!
