The Arizona Wildcats travelled to Houston to take on the Cougars and Kelvin Sampson. The Wildcats did the unthinkable (to some people). Shorthanded without Koa Peat and Dwayne Aristode the team got the job done and beat Houston at their own game. This is just the 2nd time Houston has lost at home since joining the Big 12. After back-to-back conference championships and a College World Series appearance in 2025, expectations were set fairly high for Chip Hale's program. But losses to Stanford, #13 Oregon State & Michigan in the 2026 College Baseball Series and a home loss to Omaha have the team starting off at 0-4. The Arizona Wildcats have bounced back and defeated BYU at home in the newly named McKale Center at Alkeme Arena. Anthony Dell’Orso came up huge for Arizona with 15 first half points. Jaden Bradley tallied 9+ assists in this one. Sidi Gueye showed he is ready for some more minutes. Tommy Lloyd was forced to fix his rotation after star freshman Koa Peat went down with injury in the last game and with Dwayne Aristode out with illness. The Arizona Wildcats are coming off of back to back losses against Kansas and Texas Tech. Tommy Lloyd’s group could be without Koa Peat and Dwayne Aristode for this matchup with Kevin Young’s BYU. AJ Dybantsa continues to be impressive and a potential #1 overall NBA draft pick. BYU will be without Richie Saunders for this one and the remainder of the season as he suffered a torn ACL against Colorado.

The Arizona Wildcats took their first L of the season at the hands of Bill Self’s Kansas Jayhawks. The Wildcats got bad games from Koa Peat and Jaden Bradley. Meanwhile Brayden Burries tried to will his team back into the game but his contributions were not enough as Arizona fell in Lawrence to Melvin Council Jr and a flu-riddled Darryn Peterson (did not play). Flory Bidunga was immense for KU after a wonderful first half of basketball from Motiejus Krivas.

The Arizona Wildcats have the 2nd best defense in the country according to KenPom. One of the primary reasons their perimeter defense is so strong is the addition of German wing Ivan Kharchenkov. Kharchenkov has taken Arizona's defense from really strong to suffocating. Playing alongside Motiejus Krivas, Koa Peat, Brayden Burries and Jaden Bradley has only amplified his defensive skills.

Koa Peat and Brayden Burries have become a must see freshman duo, Jaden Bradley is one of the nation’s very best point guards, Tobe Awaka and Motiejus Krivas have been holding down the paint as well. The Arizona Wildcats went to war with rivals Arizona State last night in a somewhat unexpected game. The Wildcats were favored by 20 points entering last night and exited with a 7 point win. Anthony Dell’Orso struggled to get going from a scoring perspective but was able to contribute some rebounds and assists. Motiejus Krivas played one of the lesser games of his season leading some fans to wonder what led to that and if it’s something that could rear it’s ugly head again in the spring. The Arizona Wildcats received the scare of the season from their alleged rival Arizona State. The first half was disgusting for the fans as the Wildcats ended the half down by one. In the 2nd half Arizona was still unable to fully pull away as Arizona State made the game very close with their tenacity and shot making. Why was this game so damn close?
