THIS IS THE LIFE PODCAST
THIS IS THE LIFE PODCAST “This Is The Life” is an authentic blend of storytelling, songwriting, devotion, and front-porch wisdom for the Lord. It is a brand built on legacy moments, where songs become memories, podcasts become conversations, and devotionals become lifelines. Whether through heartfelt lyrics, reflective Bible studies, children’s stories inspired by the grandkids, or acoustic-soul melodies shaped by a lifetime of experiences, This Is The Life reminds...
THE PATH GOD PLANNED FOR YOU
THE PATH GOD PLANNED FOR YOU
Psalm 16:11
“Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”
Spiritual freedom is not found in escaping responsibility, avoiding pain, or finally getting our way. True freedom is found when God shows us the path of life.
Not a shortcut. Not a detour. But a path that’s steady, intentional, and guided by His hand.

THE BOLDNESS WE NEED
The Boldness We Need
Boldness is often misunderstood. In our world, boldness is usually associated with being loud, forceful, or confident in oneself. But biblical boldness is something altogether different. True boldness does not rise from ego or self-assurance, it flows from the quiet confidence that God is with us.
Scripture reminds us this morning in Psalm 27:1, “The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” .
Boldness begins when fear no longer has the final word in our situations.
UNLESS GOD GOES WITH ME
UNLESS GOD GOES WITH ME
Exodus 33:15 reminds us that true direction, peace, and purpose are found only in God’s presence. When Moses declared, “If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence,” he acknowledged a powerful truth: progress without God is empty. This verse speaks to every believer who desires to walk in obedience rather than self-reliance. It teaches that success, movement, and even good intentions mean nothing if God is not leading the way. Exodus 33:15 calls us to pause, seek God’s presence, and refuse to move forward unless He goes with us. In a world...
A SPIRIT GOD NEVER GIVES YOU
A SPIRIT GOD NEVER GIVES YOU
2 Timothy 1:7
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
One of the most misunderstood things in the Christian life for many at least, is Spiritual Warfare.
Here we see that a spirit is being offered, but it is not from God. That is the entire concept of Spiritual Warfare. Daily we are offered certain things that will dictate the direction of our day.
Here we see it is the spirit of fear.

THE MIND YOU HAVE
The Mind of Christ
1 Corinthians 2:16
“For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.”
There are days when my thoughts feel noisy—pulled in too many directions at once. Decisions stack up, emotions weigh heavy, and the world seems determined to shape how I think. In moments like that, this verse gently calls me back to something deeper, something steadier: we have the mind of Christ.

MOVING WITH THE RIGHT WIND
Listening for the Right Wind
1 John 4:1
“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God…”
There are moments when I sit outside my house and watch the pine trees that line the yard. Most days they stand tall and steady, but every once in a while the wind picks up. When a straight wind blows through, every tree bends the same way. They may sway, but they agree. They move together. There is order to it.
But when the wind starts swirling, it’s a different story. One tree leans east, an...

ABOUNDING GRACE
Abounding Grace
2 Corinthians 9:8
“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.”
There is something deeply comforting in the words “God is able.” Not that God might provide, or could provide, but that He is able to provide.
Paul reminds us that God is not limited by our circumstances, our resources, or even our understanding. He is fully capable of making all Grace abound toward us.
Abound means to overflow, to be in great supply, or to increase...

THE FREEDOM TO SLOW DOWN
THE FREEDOM TO SLOW DOWN
Today we continue together on “The Journey to Spiritual Freedom.”
Spiritual freedom is not usually found in one specific moment—it is formed through our daily choices.
One of the most important choices is when we meet with Jesus.
There is something sacred about the early morning. Before the noise starts. Before the weight of the day presses in. Before the world tells us who we need to be and what burdens we need to carry.

WHERE REAL FREEDOM BEGINS
WHERE REAL FREEDOM BEGINS
As we step into a New Year, many of us are hoping for freedom—from worry, guilt, fear, anxiety, regret, past mistakes, emotional heaviness, feeling overwhelmed, or feeling stuck in spiritual ruts. We long to breathe again. We long to live lighter. We long to feel joy that lasts.
That longing is real—but Scripture reminds us where that kind of freedom truly comes from.
THE JOURNEY TO SPIRITUAL FREEDOM
The Journey To Spiritual Freedom
John 8:31–36
As we step into a brand-new year, many of us think about fresh starts, better habits, and new goals. But beyond resolutions and plans, the greatest gift God offers us is the chance to walk in real spiritual freedom. A new year is a reminder that God is not finished with us. He still leads. He still restores. And He still sets His people free.

LIFE CAN’T BREAK ME
LIFE CAN’T BREAK ME
This inspirational devotion compares the strength of bending trees in a storm to our lives when rooted in Christ. Through wind and pressure, we may bend but will not break. With scriptures like 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 and Isaiah 43:2 (KJV), be reminded that God is your strength in every season. Declare with confidence: “Life may shake me, but it can’t break me.”

OUR MORNING PRAYER OF SURRENDER
Our Morning Prayer of Surrender
Each new day begins best when we place our hearts, our hopes, and our plans into the hands of the Lord. “Our Morning Prayer of Surrender” is a reminder that life works better when we stop trying to control everything and simply trust God.
Laying down worries, burdens, and expectations, and inviting the Holy Spirit to guide each step of the day.
MORE THAN THE LILIES
MORE THAN THE LILIES
Reflecting on Matthew 6:28-29, this devotion encourages us to release worry, trust God’s provision, and rest in the assurance that we are valued far beyond anything in creation. Through calm faith, simple surrender, and quiet confidence, we discover that God knows our needs, sees our struggles, and faithfully provides in His perfect time.

DEVOTION AND MEDITATION
Col. 3:15
JUST BE FAITHFUL
JUST BE FAITHFUL
Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.” —1 Corinthians 4:2
There’s a simple truth tucked into this small verse that can reshape the way we view our lives: God isn’t looking for flashy. He’s looking for faithful.
When Paul says, “It is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful,” he’s reminding us that we are stewards of all that God has given us—our time, our talents, our voices, our influence, our opportunities. None of it is truly ours. It’s all on loan from Heaven, an...
WHEN IT FEELS IMPOSSIBLE
This song reminds us that what is impossible for us is never impossible for Him, and that surrender is often the doorway to miracles. It’s a simple, honest declaration that even when we can’t see the way forward, God already has one prepared.

ITS NOT OVER YET
There are moments when life feels finished—when the door seems shut, the dream looks broken, or the road ahead fades into uncertainty. But what looks like the end to us is often where God is still at work.
Scripture reminds us that “He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6, KJV). God is not bound by our timelines, our failures, or our fears. He writes beyond the last chapter we think we see.

STEP OUT ON FAITH
Mat 14:28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.
Mat 14:29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
Jesus said one word: Come. And Peter stepped out of the boat and walked on water.
This wasn’t a calm sea. The wind was still roaring, the waves were still high. But Peter wasn’t focused on the storm—he was focused on the Savior.

WHEN THE RIVER FLOWS
Psalms 46:4
There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.
There is a river.
It’s not just any river, it’s the river of God. Psalm 46:4 tells us, “There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.” This is no ordinary body of water. It’s the very flow of life that comes from the heart of God Himself. It’s a picture of grace, joy, peace...
THE VISION IS COME
THIS IS THE LIFE PODCAST
Habakkuk 2:3
“For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.”
Waiting can feel like the hardest part of our faith. There’s something about a prolonged season of “not yet” that tests our hearts in ways we don’t realize.
But if you’ve been holding onto a promise, a dream, or a word from the Lord, I want to encourage you today: the wait is almost...
ARE YOU LOOKING FOR MORE
What Are You Looking For?
John 1:38-39
“Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou? He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day…”
There’s something beautiful about a simple question that goes deeper than it first appears. When Jesus turned and saw two men following Him, He didn’t ask for their names. He didn’t inquire about their backgrounds or even their motive...
CLAIM THE PROMISE TODAY
The Heir’s Promise
Romans 8:16–18
“The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”
There’s something deeply reassuring about belonging to God. We all want to know where we come from, where we’re going, and who we t...

THE WAY GOD SUPPLIES
GOD ALWAYS PROVIDES ---
You’ve probably heard the phrase, “The Lord will provide.” It’s often said with hopeful assurance in moments of uncertainty—when the bills are piling up, when the job offer hasn’t come, when the path ahead looks foggy at best. But what does it truly mean when we say, “God will provide”? And how can we trust in that promise when the evidence around us seems scarce?
Philippians 4:19 is one of the most comforting verses in Scripture: “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
ARE YOU FEELING OVERWHELMED
DEVOTION AND MEDITATION
Matthew 6:33
Our Focus should not be on the Problem but on the Provider.
When life feels overwhelming and the weight of the world presses hard on your shoulders, Matthew 6:33 offers a calming reminder: “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” This verse invites us to shift our focus from the chaos around us to the God who holds everything together. Instead of letting anxiety rule the moment, Jesus teaches us to realign our priorities—His presence first, His peace first, His pu...
USING ORDINARY PEOPLE
In a world that often measures worth by status, talent, and achievement, “Using Ordinary People” brings us back to the truth that God’s Kingdom operates differently. He calls the unlikely. He equips the humble. He transforms the broken. And He takes what the world dismisses and turns it into a testimony of His power. Whether you feel unqualified, unseen, or unsure of your purpose, this message will remind you that God has always done His greatest work through people just like you.

A PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING-
EVERLASTING - SONG
“Everlasting” is a song that grew out of those quiet moments when your heart drifts toward the people you’ve loved and lost, and you find yourself wondering what they’re seeing on the other side. It’s a reminder that faith gives us a kind of vision the eyes can’t provide—a way of seeing beyond the horizon of this life. Writing this song feels like standing at the edge of time, sensing that this world is only part of the story, and that somewhere ahead there’s a place where every voice you miss is waiting in perfect peace.

WHERE DO YOU RUN TO
WHERE DO YOU RUN
The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.
Proverbs 18:10
When children are afraid, they know instinctively where to run. They look for a parent, a grandparent, an older sibling or someone who makes them feel safe.
God designed us the same way. We were created to know where to run when life overwhelms us. To know who to call on when fear and danger close in. Proverbs 18:10 gives us this simple, powerful truth:
