As a follower of Jesus, I do not have the right to say whatever I desire. I must be filled with self-control and grace before any words leave my mouth. Again, refer to the memory verse and take time to memorize it so you can be prepared for any conversation!

In this week's reading, we are learning to honor God with our speech! Take the time to memorize the verse Ephesians 4:29 each day for this reading. "Don't use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them."

Colossians 3:20-21 says don't be angry with your kids or they'll be discouraged. We need to encourage our kids to grow in their faith, which requires patience.

God disciplines us because He loves us! We need to discipline kids in the same way God disciplines us as His kids, with love.

In Ephesians, it says: "I have not stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God."

Just as we are encouraged to grow, we should encourage kids to grow! Take the time to share the good news with children in a way they can understand. I will live with childlike faith.

To go further from yesterday's topic, today, we start with showing children the Gospel. Psalm 78:4 says don't hide the truths and tell children the glorious deeds of our Lord, about His power, and His mighty wonders.

Today's topic is a tough subject when it comes to marriage. God's design for marriage is to join the man and woman as one. Divorce is taking what God made and splitting it. So guard your hearts and honor one another!

We need to be careful who we surround ourselves with so that we can grow in our faith. I will seek friends who warn me when I am about to do something that will cause me harm.

Something important to know about healthy relationships is recognizing the bad ones. Read 2 Timothy 3:1-5 because it will tell you about the people who won't grow your faith.

I will be the kind of friend who cares enough to do what is best for my friends. Take a look at Galatians 6:1-3. What does that scripture say to your life? Think of how you can adjust your life to live more by the law of Christ.
