Crappy Anime Showdown

A horror anime aimed at teaching the point of view of the fear of children goes up against some lady whose power is opposite day. Both anime try really hard to convince you that their story is deeper than it really is. Both anime fall flat on their faces. Let us dig in to which one has the potential to go off the rails.

Another season. Another selection. Another 8 chances for these anime to either disappoint us or wow us. This is the time where we see if there are anime or anime-not. Regardless of the outcome, we will be here. Watching. Waiting. Hoping for something sufferable. And you will b e here too.

Can Scarlett punch her way to the very top, or will the rookie duo of a woman and beastman, topple her at the finish line. We have fisticuffs galore vs very awkward attempts at romance. We are just glad that this is the final, because believe it or not, these two actually deserve to be here. Now let us see if we can finish strong.

It's Amoongus time everybody! AWE delve deeper into the world of an Among Us style game turned anime where all the characters act too much like they are in one without ever acknowledging that fact. And to wash that bitter taste out of our mouths we get to see a woman of noble birth beat the tar out of pretty mush every other noble ion the land. Man is it fun to see her hit people that deserve it.

This week the winter blues have come home to roost. We have finally hit the valley that we seem to hit every season, so we can at least be thankful it took this long. WE get 3 more episodes of a beastiality RomCom as well as 3 more episodes of a man going through a midlife crisis, trying to recapture his youth. Listen to see which one we are forced to move forward with.

Listen. I understand that Gnosia is a game all on its own. It probably has a fanbase and maybe even a following online. However, to me it is just Among Us 2: Anime Bamboozaloo. This anime is really just one long cutscene from Gnosia, as none of the characters are interesting, and they keep bringing up in game topics, such as roles, as if it were a normal topic. Magical princess on the other hand is an Isekai in name only. This show totally forgets it is supposed to be an older woman who woke up is a child's body...

You ever see those memes online where everyone just comments the joke is porn? Well Hands Off is the physical incarnation of those memes. The anime just wants to be porn but is not brave enough or is really catering to horny teenagers I guess. Meanwhile Tojima is a passion project by someone who clearly loves Kamen Rider. The problem is I don't know any of the source material so most of it just goes over my head and I am left with a subpar storyline.

These anime both disappoint us is opposite end of the spectrum ways. It hits even harder considering last weeks episode. We get to choose from literal bestiality and an anime so boring I honestly have removed it from memory. I wish both anime could be sent to the shadow realm, but alas, one must move on. Join us in our despair.

I know this may be bold of me to say but I believe May I Ask has a chance to go down in the CAS Hall of Fame. The English Dub of this anime brings everything to life in the best worst ways possible. The other anime is just so meh that it isn't worth mentioning. This episode is peak for sure.

IT's Selection day again! Just in time following a really good finale last season! There are some big hits this season so listen and see if you can guess any!

Another banger of a finale is headed our way. A comfy cat related homage to horror movies is up against teenage girls trying to bowl their way out of being executed. One lures you in with cute and cuddly virus cats, while the other sets up a medieval bowling premise and knocks it down in the best way possible. You are going to enjoy this!

Who would've guessed that a bowling anime could be this accurate about bowling while still being absolutely nonsensical. Its like Home Alone meets the PBA. Then you have Watari Kun doing Watari Kun things for better or for worse. He is out there just absolutely doting on his sister way too hard. That's anime for you!

ZOMBIE CATS!! ZOMBIE CATS!! ZOMBIE CATS!!!! The return of the cat Virus tries to defeat a man who cooks and looks intimidating while others around him either envy him or try to off themselves. Two very strange anime!! Only one will become victorious! Who will it be? Listen to find out.

These were the best of anime. These were the worst of Anime. A true Tale of Two Cities. A twist on an old classic where a cat is the zombie virus. It goes up against a Deadman Wonderland knockoff. If either of those interest you, then you will be excited for this episode!

Another very interesting week. A hero, a wolf and a baby decide to duke it out against a boy with a very unhealthy relationship with his sister. I feel like the Anime community is the only place you can say that and have people understand what you are talking about. Which, honestly, is probably a little sad. Anyway, enjoy!

What i am being told is that Uglymug is going to turn the Isekai genre on its head at some point during this season. What i also know is that Outcast is the right amount of whiplash. So which one is actually going to move on? Not sure. What i do know is it's a fun listen.

What a banger! Absolute strike of an episode! We got much less sexualization than anticipated so a win their. And we got exactly the right amount of Feudal Japan bowling. Just the right amount of good-bad to start off this season.

Due to timing constraints this will be the final episode of this season. I can promise you it is a banger as these anime deliver on what they promised. Kowloon being a very strange sci-fi mystery romance and Too Perfect Saint being the tales of the Prince and his mental gymnastics!

I am pretty sure that the estates of any musical composer should be trying to sue the creators of Classic Stars as it is anything but a classic. It claims to derive inspiration from the classical composers but naught is found from the first minute until the end of each episode. Too Perfect delivers one of the most crucial characters and probably the best written villain this season if not this entire podcast. I hope you enjoy the episode!

It's almost like the vibes anime takes on the anti-vibes anime. Where Apocalypse Hotel tries to make you feel warm and easy with a sprinkle of uneasiness to keep you on your toes, KGR is all uneasiness and intrigue where someone occasionally whispers the word normal so that you don't feel off kilter at all times. I really can't describe these anime or how far apart they are so have a listen for yourself.

It has finally happened. We here at CAS have decided to bear witness to an anime that leads with its chest and follows up with more of its chest. Please put them on truly encapsulates what I truly believe every anime is striving to be at its core and that is not a good thing. On the other hand we have ghost Mozart giving his "gift" to a man who seems to want nothing to do with it and would rather punch his way through school.

I was outvoted this episode. This makes me sad because now we have to watch more of the one i considered to be on the rails. I will however say that these too anime were polar opposites of each other vibe wise. Too be Hero tries too hard to be the edgy version of My Hero Academia and Apocalypse Hotel wants to cuddle up on the couch with you as the world collapses around you. Hope this piques your interest.

I really had hope that both of these would break anime-norms and just be a complete trashy blast. Instead we get Gaslit Gorilla Girl in a farfetched world and an anime that highlights the absolute worst of political intrigue. I still think the winner here has hope, but no spoilers so tune in.

Kowloon Generic Romance is one of the most confusing anime i have watched in a minute. Take that wqith a very big grain of salt, but it certainly sets itself apart from everything else out there. Witch Watch on the other hand just tries to stay within the weird pseudo romance anime that exist without breaking too many walls. There is also a well known twitch streamer as the VA, so there is that.

Out of the code Lyoko Matrix into the best episode of every season as we get ready to select the new anime once again! From Beethoven to Lingerie ecchi we have possibly the widest array and smallest selections to date.

What an absolute nostalgia pick from our producer. We all get to hack into Lyoko to stop X.A.N.A from being a big bully. Unfortunately we didn't stop him in time as he was able to make a live action version that we also check out. This was half nostalgia and half painful which, if you have listened long enough, you know is a good combination

Another season in the books and another victory when it comes to CAS correctly predicting the bad anime and the fun bad anime. We may be getting too good at this. Let's see who takes home the trophy for called shots and any parting thoughts as we close out this season.

The heavyweight showdown of the season finally is here! We get to see if small girls commiting war crimes can stand up to the struggles of an animator after they die. I have to say both of these surprised me for different reasons and I am excited for you to listen.

I can't say I am surprised by this week at all. When a show promises wizards and then basically doesn't deliver and the other show is promising the first three episodes just to fall off a cliff it seems history really does like repeating itself. It was a fun episode nonetheless and always we hope you enjoy!

This episode goes to show that no good season of our podcast goes unpunished! And punished we were as we dealt with the constant disappointment vs the fall from grace.

Bogus Fruit is what happens when you watch I was reincarnated as a Slime and your takeaway is "Wow having an appraisal skill is the coolest thing ever.!". Zenshu is literally what happens to Mangakas when they die and you cannot convince me otherwise. That being said this episode rounds out the the first round of matchups and I can tell you there is a clear favorite heading Into the semifinals.

Vegemon: Vegetables evolved meets double Isekai extravaganza in this week's episode. That basically covers what we watch. I hope this message finds you well!

The one thing I can say about promise of Wizard is that it promised a wizard and we got at least one wizard. Other than that, I have no idea what in the world this show was supposed to give and therefore am waiting with baited breath to see the ultimate fight between wizard and Moon. Okitsura, on the other hand, promised an anime about Okinawa but instead I got an educational tourist promotion that tried to get me to uproot all of my family to move there. We did not move.

The first 120 seconds of Grisaia is a cinematic recapping masterpiece! If you didn't know anything about the Grisaia universe then prepare to be dumped a lot of unhelpful information only to be told you are now caught up to speed. Ameku MD, on the other hand, is what happens when we allow people to make a spinoff of House MD except he is short tempered small lady who is addicted to booze instead of Vicodin. Enjoy!

The new season is upon us! Unfortunately we are back in Winter Simulcast which is where every studio throws there scrap just to keep us satisfied until spring where they finally can release better quality anime. That set aside I do think there is some really good potential with a few shows. Any chance anyone forgets what snake draft is? Probably.

This amazing season has finally come to a close. We get ready to tally the scores to see which one of us takes home the covered CAS belt, crown and chalice! All in all one of the best seasons we have had the fortune of watching. I hope next season can top this one or at least come close!

The long awaited follow up season to Arcane has finally arrived and so we use our bonus episode to watch and critique it. We even have Ethan come back and join us for this episode because this anime is not technically trash. Come listen to where each of us stand on this anime and how it compares to season 1.

WE DID IT! A full season of anime that brought something to the table for the amount of time we had to watch them. I cannot explain how amazing it is to have the anime equivalent of a perfect game. I will not spoil or hype anything up so click play and listen away!

If this season keeps going the way it has been I am not sure where we can go after it is over! Notorious Talker and Yakuza Fiance do not disappoint in yet another thrilling and genuinely fun episode. Looking forward to watching bad anime has not really been a thing since the early episodes and let me tell you what a refresher it is!
