Crappy Anime Showdown

What an absolute nostalgia pick from our producer. We all get to hack into Lyoko to stop X.A.N.A from being a big bully. Unfortunately we didn't stop him in time as he was able to make a live action version that we also check out. This was half nostalgia and half painful which, if you have listened long enough, you know is a good combination

Another season in the books and another victory when it comes to CAS correctly predicting the bad anime and the fun bad anime. We may be getting too good at this. Let's see who takes home the trophy for called shots and any parting thoughts as we close out this season.

The heavyweight showdown of the season finally is here! We get to see if small girls commiting war crimes can stand up to the struggles of an animator after they die. I have to say both of these surprised me for different reasons and I am excited for you to listen.

I can't say I am surprised by this week at all. When a show promises wizards and then basically doesn't deliver and the other show is promising the first three episodes just to fall off a cliff it seems history really does like repeating itself. It was a fun episode nonetheless and always we hope you enjoy!

This episode goes to show that no good season of our podcast goes unpunished! And punished we were as we dealt with the constant disappointment vs the fall from grace.

Bogus Fruit is what happens when you watch I was reincarnated as a Slime and your takeaway is "Wow having an appraisal skill is the coolest thing ever.!". Zenshu is literally what happens to Mangakas when they die and you cannot convince me otherwise. That being said this episode rounds out the the first round of matchups and I can tell you there is a clear favorite heading Into the semifinals.

Vegemon: Vegetables evolved meets double Isekai extravaganza in this week's episode. That basically covers what we watch. I hope this message finds you well!

The one thing I can say about promise of Wizard is that it promised a wizard and we got at least one wizard. Other than that, I have no idea what in the world this show was supposed to give and therefore am waiting with baited breath to see the ultimate fight between wizard and Moon. Okitsura, on the other hand, promised an anime about Okinawa but instead I got an educational tourist promotion that tried to get me to uproot all of my family to move there. We did not move.

The first 120 seconds of Grisaia is a cinematic recapping masterpiece! If you didn't know anything about the Grisaia universe then prepare to be dumped a lot of unhelpful information only to be told you are now caught up to speed. Ameku MD, on the other hand, is what happens when we allow people to make a spinoff of House MD except he is short tempered small lady who is addicted to booze instead of Vicodin. Enjoy!

The new season is upon us! Unfortunately we are back in Winter Simulcast which is where every studio throws there scrap just to keep us satisfied until spring where they finally can release better quality anime. That set aside I do think there is some really good potential with a few shows. Any chance anyone forgets what snake draft is? Probably.

This amazing season has finally come to a close. We get ready to tally the scores to see which one of us takes home the covered CAS belt, crown and chalice! All in all one of the best seasons we have had the fortune of watching. I hope next season can top this one or at least come close!

The long awaited follow up season to Arcane has finally arrived and so we use our bonus episode to watch and critique it. We even have Ethan come back and join us for this episode because this anime is not technically trash. Come listen to where each of us stand on this anime and how it compares to season 1.

WE DID IT! A full season of anime that brought something to the table for the amount of time we had to watch them. I cannot explain how amazing it is to have the anime equivalent of a perfect game. I will not spoil or hype anything up so click play and listen away!

If this season keeps going the way it has been I am not sure where we can go after it is over! Notorious Talker and Yakuza Fiance do not disappoint in yet another thrilling and genuinely fun episode. Looking forward to watching bad anime has not really been a thing since the early episodes and let me tell you what a refresher it is!

If you wanted more hair brained trillionaire schemes and a cyberpunk city that never want to deal with a plot point for more than 30 seconds then you are in luck! An absolute banger of an episode to keep this season chugging along with a chance at a perfect season!!

A CLEAN SWEEP!!! We actually had the first 4 showdowns be 100 percent engaging and worth watching! I can not tell you how awesome it is to have picked such great crappy ani.e! Let's pay ourselves on the back! Yakuza Fiance surpasses the premise entirely and Dandadan for all the hype does not fall flat on its face which is something we are not used to here. I hope you all are enjoying the heck out of this season!

Can we really do it?! Through 3 weeks I can say that CAS is perfect in picking, if nothing else, interesting anime. 2099 may seem like a Cyber punk beat for beat ripoff and True Beauty may be under fire with its creator being bombarded online for unfair beauty standards, yet in spite of that they each offer enough to truly dive into. Going for the sweep of openers next week!

I am going to be extremely real with you when I say 365 days would not be an anime that lasted more than half an episode of it were based anywhere in reality. I genuinely am concerned for worker mentality. Talker on the other hand could not have been more of an open love letter to Inceldom if it tried. What I am trying to say is we have another banger of a week on our hands making us 2 for 2 so far!

Yes this is the way to start a season off. Both of these anime were if nothing else entertaining. Was it good? Was it terrible? It was a little bit of both and the best start in a while. So very refreshing to have watched all 6 episodes and not dozed off even once. I hope this is a good omen about the season to come!

This season has possibly the most upside and downside that we have seen in a while. I truly believe there is a chance every anime is hilarious bad or absolutely dreadful. Not much mid tier to be found. Let us know what you think!

A twist on an old classic for sure. And if you are a fan of J's famous rants then let me tell you that you will be pleasantly surprised! A fun anime to dissect for sure. What an interesting take on an a fun franchise even if it doesn't quite live up to our Initial hype.

I would like to say it has been an incredibly tedious ride but doing this Wrapup cements that we here at CAS are good at our jobs. Not a single one of these anime were better than our finalists. A special treat this episode is our producer talking about Twilight at length. Still can not believe people were so mad with this show and mad Crunchyroll take comments away. Unforgivable. This was a good one. Also we pick a bench warmer for next week!

The finale has come and we can put this season of crappy anime to bed. We get to see the conclusion of a man dating his dishwasher and an evil Lt. who is in love with a loli magical girl. I know how it sounds but trust me it is even worse.

Everything I said in last week's description applies double here. I do not know what we did to deserve such bad anime but it is being delivered by the truck load. Boring and basically unwatchable. Another short episode at least. Here is to hoping the finale turns this all around!

Sometimes when it seems like you might have picked a good season from the start, it all blows up in your face every episode. This season is that exact sentiment and reality. I sure do hope you all get more out of these than we do because let me tell you we are squeezing for any juice possible. Enjoy this tall glass of dogwater anime we discuss.

We have to admit something here. One of these anime is a season two so you are in for a shorter episode. Not sure how it slipped through the crack but as a consolation prize it was one of the most boring anime ever so we do not have to keep watching it at least. Enjoy.

I fear this is not the opener we wished to have because one anime is to good and that means we unfortunately have to pick the other. However it is worth noting we sure do try to make both anime sound interesting at the very least.

Dragon Raja is a gem of a generation and I want to say nothing else so as not to spoil it's greatness. Vampire Dormitory is exactly what I said it would be two episodes ago. I can not wait for the final of this season.

We dive deeper into the trenches of NuTube with the main character showing us he has to do no growing whatsoever in order to gain what he wants. Gods Games We Play continues to choose ridiculous games for humanity to win but without telling us why any of this matters at all.

Another day another fantastic matchup. Yatagerasu tries to convince us it is Game of Thrones Lite while simultaneously showing us why that without the sex GoT would have been conversation simulator the show. Meanwhile Vampire Dormitory is trying harder than anyone else to be Vampire Knight x Ouran Highschool Host Club. I mean at every turn it is clearly a spiritual and physical clone! It's a good week for sure!

Half of this episode is dedicated to showing us what happens when a pseudo intellectual creates children's games and the other half is dedicated to what happens when an Overpowered protagonist gets a witch to help him remove a family curse. I hope you find at least one of those entertaining.

I wish I could tell you what we learned from this week's episode, but for the first time ever the comments led us down the path of truth as we know absolutely nothing about Dragon Raja. It is just the Chinese version of Harry Potter meets Dragon and it absolutely deserves to be on this podcast. We also learn that when a show has salad bowl in the title you can bet it will be in the opening song.

It only took one episode for us to remember what CAS is all about. We also learn that Ryan is an absolute addict who needs to be stopped at all costs. So we will probably just enable his vices.
