The Warriors smashed the Sydney Roosters 42-18 in front of a sold-out home crowd to open their season in league's NRL with a bang.
Playmakers Chanel Harris-Tavita and Tanah Boyd had their hands in three tries each. Harris-Tavita scored two and set up one, while Boyd crossed for the opener and assisted two.
Boyd told Piney it was an extremely satisfying result.
He says you work so hard in the preseason, and to see it come out in last night’s performance was obviously very pleasing.

Keven Mealamu: Former All Black and member of the All Blacks coaching recruitment panel on why Dave Rennie was appointed
The new All Blacks coach was appointed this week – Dave Rennie succeeding Scott Robertson in the role.
It came down to two candidates – Rennie and Jamie Joseph, and according to NZ Rugby Chair David Kirk, it was Rennie’s experience that took him over the line.
Former All Black Keven Mealamu was a member of the recruitment panel, and told Piney both candidates had the skill set necessary to coach, but Rennie’s ability to build strong cultures, and his pursuit of excellence and high standards really stood out.
