This week in Sea of Thieves, it's a shame we have to do this song and dance one more time. Season 18 has been delayed, and while we're getting quality of life updates this month, the release of new content is going to be pushed out further than anticipated. I cover a bunch in this episode, but a lot of this is my thoughts on Rage and Bone Crates, Overhealth, and the overall design of Sea of Thieves and Rare not being able to stick to timelines for very long.

While I'm happy with how the forts turned out, both on High Seas and Safer Seas, there's a lingering issue that I have with the Emporium. This week in Sea of Thieves, it's that time before an update, where we get all the videos revealing what's coming up and going to be released. So it's time to go in and talk about what to expect. I think one of the interesting about this is going to be the mega-bundle in the emporium. It's a good value if you don't own a lot of it but for those that own a good chunk of the bundle won't benefit from a discount on the bundle.

It's not all glitter and gold, and you might be surprised by some of the feelings they have. GodHammer does a wonderful job of breaking down the upcoming Community Weekend as he took the time to break down the news. All in all, it's an interesting start to a season that was showcased at Xbox's E3-esque event back in June.

This week in Sea of Thieves, it's time to give you an update on the emergency maintenance going on as the devs shut down Hourglass to deal with long drive times and instability. All that being said, there's a really interesting fishing event going on that makes me wonder why the quests given are part of the Hunter's Call voyage system. It's also the start of a new month, with May's list of content coming. I'll also be out next week, so there won't be an episode for now.

This week in Sea of Thieves, we got a bunch of updates and events rolling in for the game's seventh anniversary. Congrats to the studio for continuing to release free updates and for constantly looking to the horizon for more to come. There are a lot of dates, but everything started on the 14th and is going to the 24th for community weekend and all the free currency, emotes, weapons, and... cannon flares.

It's a short week in news for Sea of Thieves but we found out that they were nominated for Best Evolving Game at the BAFTAs that are going to be live on April 8th. The last time the studio won an award for the game was back in 2021 so it will be interesting to see if they can pull in another win, in a year where there were some heavy hitters for liver service games.
