🎙 Delayed but Still Delivered
#15

This week’s episode didn’t arrive on Thursday like it usually does. I’ve been a little under the weather and needed to rest — and honestly, I felt guilty at first for falling behind. But God gently reminded me… delayed doesn’t mean forgotten. Delayed doesn’t mean it no longer matters.

In this episode, I’m sharing a simple truth I’ve had to learn the hard way:
just because something is delayed, doesn’t mean God can’t still deliver it.

We’ll talk about:
• Why rest isn’t failure — it can be obedience
• How Go...

I Forgot the Pictures
#14
Last Monday at 10:26 AM

This week I mailed my mom a sweet “thinking of you” card…
and completely forgot to include the boys’ school pictures. 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

When she texted me saying, “I got your card in the mail, but there weren’t any pictures inside,” I couldn’t stop laughing.
And when I told my oldest, he said,

“Typical mom moment, Mom.”

He’s not wrong.
And I’m pretty sure my mom just smiled and thought,

“She probably meant to forget those pictures.” 😆

In this episode, I’m sharing the story behind that little mix-up — and how God used it...

It Wasn’t What I Thought

Have you ever convinced yourself something terrible was happening—only to find out it wasn’t nearly as bad as you feared?

That was me recently.
A sudden pain had me convinced something was wrong with my gallbladder.
My mind went racing, my prayers got urgent, and the waiting felt long.
But thankfully—everything was okay.

It wasn’t what I thought.

In this episode, I’m talking about fear, faith, and how easily our thoughts can run ahead of God’s peace.
We’ll loo...

When Someone Else Gets the Balloon

Two of my boys went to a classmate’s birthday party and came home with balloons. One of their other brothers saw the balloons… and immediately burst into tears. Not because he hated balloons—but because they got something fun and he didn’t.

And as funny as that sounds, the truth hit me hard:

We do the exact same thing with God.

When someone else gets:
•A blessing
•A breakthrough
•A relationship
•A promotion
•A miracle

…something in us whispers,
“G...

It’s Okay That Your Season Has Changed

As women and moms, we often feel guilty when our lives change—especially when it comes to big decisions about our families, routines, or callings. We think changing direction means we quit or failed… but what if it actually means we followed God?

For most of my kids’ lives, we homeschooled. It was our normal and our identity. Then my husband got a new job, we moved, and after a year in our new space—God gently shifted our season. We enrolled our boys in a wonderful Christian school con...

When Obedience Is Scary: The Hardest and Holiest Yes
#10

The Hardest and Holiest Yes.

For the past few YEARS, my word for my spiritual journey has been obedience.
Not once. Not twice. YEAR after year.

And I’ve learned something…
Obedience sounds holy until God asks you to do something uncomfortable.

In this episode, we get really honest about:
•Why obedience can feel scary
•The hidden fears that hold us back (control, failure, opinions, comfort)
•What God has taught me after YEARS of this same word
•How biblical heroes obeyed even when it made no sense
•What I’ve disc...

What Makes My Kid Cry Today: The Jewelry Store Meltdown
#9
10/09/2025

In this Milk & Honey Moments episode, Lizzie shares a hilarious and heartfelt story straight from motherhood’s unpredictable moments.

While stopping by the jewelry store to get a quote for a new wedding ring, she gets a FaceTime call from home—her 4-year-old is crying hysterically because Mom left without him. 😅

Through laughter and reflection, Lizzie finds a deeper truth: sometimes, we react the same way with God when we can’t see what He’s doing. But just like a loving mom never stops caring for her child, God never stops working on our behalf—even when He...

You Don’t Have to Hustle for Grace
#8
10/06/2025

In this heartfelt episode, Lizzie shares an honest look at how easy it is to get caught in the cycle of doing, striving, and chasing perfection—especially as a busy mom. But God whispers a gentle reminder: “You don’t have to hustle for grace.”

Through Scripture and real-life moments, this devotional reminds us that God’s love isn’t earned by our productivity, but received through His presence. If you’re feeling tired, stretched thin, or like you can’t keep up, this episode will help you breathe again and rest in the truth that grace is already yours.

In today’s episode of What Makes My Kid Cry Today, I share a funny (and relatable!) parenting moment: saying “no” to dog ice cream during fall break. Tune in for encouragement, a little humor, and a reminder to trust God’s plan, even when it’s hard to understand.

The Great Animal Cracker Crisis 🐴🍪
#6
09/25/2025

Snack time turned into a full-blown meltdown when my little one discovered a devastating truth: there were no horses in his bowl of animal crackers. 🐴😭

In this episode of What Makes My Kid Cry Today, we’ll explore how this tiny moment speaks to a much bigger truth about our own hearts. Just like my son, we often fixate on what’s missing instead of seeing the good right in front of us.

Join me as I share the hilarious (and slightly dramatic) story of The Great Animal Cracker Crisis and how it reminded me of 1 Timothy 6...

Where Does He Get His Energy From?
#3
09/15/2025

Kids never seem to run out of energy — but most days, it feels like they’re draining every ounce of mine. 😂 In this episode, I share a funny moment from a 2019 science lesson, the grocery store thought we’ve all had about “bottling up that energy,” and the reminder God gave me about where true strength really comes from.

Isaiah 40:29 says, “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.” That verse hits home for parents running on fumes. Our kids’ energy might feel endless, but ours isn’t — and that’s okay. Because the One who made us never...

When Rest Feels Like Resistance
#2
09/11/2025

Have you ever tried to rest… but instead of peace, you felt guilty? The laundry is waiting, the dishes are piled up, the inbox is overflowing — and somehow stopping feels wrong.

In this episode, “When Rest Feels Like Resistance,” I share a short devotional reminder that rest isn’t laziness. It’s worship. It’s trust. It’s holy. Choosing to rest is actually resisting the lie that your worth comes from constant doing — and it’s leaning into God’s invitation to simply be.

If you’ve been running on empty and carrying guilt for slowing down, this encou...

🎙️ What Makes My Kid Cry Today – Welcome Back Episode

After a two-month trial run, I wasn’t sure if this podcast was worth continuing. I debated quitting. I even deleted my other podcast and changed things on my social media. The numbers didn’t look big, the silence after each upload felt heavy, and I wondered if it was all just a silly experiment.

But then, one simple email changed everything. Someone wrote to me about a series I had shared — and in their words, I realized this podcast does matter. Even if it’s just for one person, it has purpose.

So here I am, star...
