Town’s promotion party put on hold
#226
05/02/2023

Bradford City may have spoiled the day on Saturday but all it’s really done is delay the party by a week.

That’s what we, as Cobblers fans, must believe and if we play like we did in the second half again, we’ll be more than good enough to win next Monday.

Charles, Danny and Chessie discuss the 2-1 home defeat to Bradford, the End of Season Awards and why Saturday was special for us as a podcast team.

#225
04/25/2023

Gosh, what an end to the season this is turning out to be!

Our Northampton Town survived an early scare to run out 3-1 winners over a Harrogate side who may well feel a little hard done by. But the only thing we care about is being just two points away from returning to League One.

Charles, Danny and Chessie discuss the game and its permutations for the end of season run in.

Northampton Town travel to Carlisle United this Saturday for the first of five cup finals that will determine whether the Cobblers will be playing in League One next season.

Since we beat them 2-1 at Sixfields in December, Carlisle have been on a good run. They’ve lost just four other games and are well placed in 4th in the League Two table. Level on points with Stockport and Stevenage who sit 3rd and 5th.

With the Cobblers three points ahead of Carlisle, the game is setup to be a real six-pointer.

Hoskins Makes History As Cobblers Go 2nd

Sam Hoskins made history as he became the first Cobblers player to score 20 league goals as the Cobblers won comfortably at Doncaster.

Both Hoskins and Mitch Pinnock were gifted goals by Donny goalkeeper Jonathan Mitchell and the Cobblers secured a 2-0 win.

Thanks to losses for both Stevenage and Carlisle, that result puts the Cobblers 2nd in the League Two table and Danny has fired up the Title Train. Are you on board?

We’re talking about both the game and it...

The Preview Show: Hartlepool United v Northampton Town
#31
03/10/2023

Northampton Town are on the road again this week as they travel north to take on Hartlepool United in League Two.

Before we get to that though, we’re reeling about the decision to reject the Cobblers appeal for Aaron McGowan’s red card to be rescinded. So much so, in fact that we’re never going to appeal anything ever again.

There was some good news this week though, in the form of two 0-0 draw for both Stockport and Bradford. Those results mean the Cobblers remain in 4th place and are now level on gam...

Class Will Always Beat Ass
#218
03/07/2023

Pick that out!

Northampton Town achieved justice by beating Crawley Town on Saturday and there is plenty for the team to discuss on this week’s show.

It's story time with Charles as he describes how Roles went for a roll to make McGowan see red.

Did that red galvanise the Sixfields crowd enough to make it, not only the turning point in the match, but the season?

Just how good was that Sowersby shellacking?

Also, we talk about NTFC Women’s return to Sixfields in front of a reco...

The Preview Show: Northampton Town v Crawley Town
#30
03/03/2023

Northampton Town welcome the Red Devils of Crawley Town to Sixfields this weekend.

The League Two tie is sure to be an interesting one as The Cobblers look to get their second win of the week against a Crawley side who are yet to win away from home all season.

Bodes well, doesn’t it?

On The Preview Show this week, Danny and Charles discuss the midweek draw away at Harrogate, asking whether it really was a bad result or is a draw on your travels always welcome?

Stephen Dimmock joins us...

Appéré Ends The Slump
#217
02/28/2023

The Cobblers got back on track at the weekend with a 1-0 away win at Colchester United thanks to a Louis Appéré strike.

Could this be the result we needed to turn things around? Many of your Three Word Reviews seem to think it could be. We read them out and discuss just what it was that helped Northampton Town stop the slump and get back to winning ways.

Plus we take a question about shaking up the domestic cup competitions from Iestyn Pocock and Danny asks who we’ll be dressing up as on W...

Jon Brady’s Northampton Town travel to mangerless Colchester United this weekend in League Two.

The Cobblers will be looking to bounce back after a miserable defeat at home to Grimsby last time around.

Colchester meanwhile have lost manager, Matt Bloomfield to Wycombe Wanderers this week and so will be hoping that their new found form isn’t lost with him.

Joining Charles on The Preview Show to tell us all about Col U’s season so far is James from the Views On The U’s podcast.

The Cobblers lost 2-1 at home to Grimsby on Saturday, meaning we’ve been left in a sea of frustration.

We go through your Three Word Reviews of the game and give our thoughts on what’s gone wrong for Jon Brady’s side of late.

In Defence Of Warehouse
#215
02/14/2023

The Cobblers saved their blushes late on against Rochdale as they left Spotland with a 1-1 draw.

We react to your Three Word Reviews from Saturday evening and vent our frustrations at the Cobblers’ inability to get a win against the league’s bottom side.

We ask why there seems to be a lack of intent in the Cobblers attack. Is it the lack of a number 10? The players not implementing what they’re being coached to do? Or something else?

Plus, Danny defends the stick 90’s Northampton band, Warehouse have been getting this wee...

#214
02/07/2023

Can we eek out an hour’s worth of content on Northampton Town 0-0 Walsall? Of course we can!

While many of your Three Word Reviews this week were on the negative side, there were a couple of positively spun ones. Did yours make the pod?

Neil’s obsessed with a new dessert flavour sweet, Danny provides us with his 7 year old son’s take on the game, Jefé refuses to demote Ali Koiki to jester and Charles causes a stir by pronouncing Diplodocus differently to the rest of the team.

Northampton Town make the trip to Barrow for this weekend's League Two tie.

After last weekend's postponement, the Cobblers will be hoping that the extra week on the training ground will help them to bounce back after two defeats in a row.

Barrow's game last weekend was also postponed. A complaint was even made about that to PGMOL but nothing has come of it.

The Preview Show: Northampton Town v Mansfield Town
#24
01/19/2023

The Cobblers welcome Mansfield Town to Sixfields on Saturday for the next League Two fixture of the 2022/23 season.

It's only been a few weeks since Northampton Town last faced the Stags. The two sides played out a 1-1 draw at Field Mill on Boxing Day.

Since then, both sides have had mixed fortunes.

Mansfield have won 1, drawn 1 and lost 2 and the Cobblers have won 1 and lost 3.

While the Cobblers have brought in goalkeeper, Tom King, Nigel Clough has had a far busier transfer window.

Ollie Hawkins and George Lapslie...

Cobblers Suffer At Stockport
#212
01/17/2023

We're looking back at Northampton Town's 2-0 defeat away at Stockport this week.

Charles, Danny, Neil and Chessie discuss why the Cobblers were unable to get back to winning ways. Was it a superb performance from Stockport's 'keeper or a poor display from Town's attackers?

After 5 wins in our last 15 games, we also discuss our chances of catching Leyton Orient and Stevenage above us and, looking downwards, should we be worried and hit the panic button?

Tom King and Max Dyche make their full debuts, plus we delve into Neil's Postbag to get...
