Fragraphilia - The Podcast

Hard charging towards the end of the year, we dive into our most worn perfumes of 2025 and then steer right into the macabre as we discuss our death bed fragrances. Like the memories that will pass before our eyes, we travel that journey through scents and perfumes.

Also, as we still live and breathe, we talk about the scents we've been wearing lately and a candle that has really burned its way into our hearts. All that and a very skin scent edition of The Game.

In our first installment of Fragraphilia & Friends, we decide to bring in some high level sophistication, grace, and the ability the properly pronounce French words. We proudly welcome the wonderful Tracy Wan to the podcast.

We've been so excited to discuss the newest release from Paraphrase Perfumes, Fruit Thieves, which was totally worth all the customs delays. Thanks to Josh who kindly sent it to us as a gift. We also dip our toes in the water of the ever-present topic of dupes and how they play into the manosphere and Reddit sales. As fun as that seems, most of this episode is heavy on Parfum d'Empire as we talk about a few we've been testing and really enjoying. Plus, our scents of the week and pretty solid round of The Game.

I'm not going to sugarcoat it, this episode takes a bit of a somber turn again, this time around the 30 minute mark but we do manage to spend most of it talking about the fragrances we've tested, worn, and even a few we regret. Laundry detergent...

An episode recorded with a heavy heart as we had to say goodbye to Jane's chihuahua, Jimmy Wilkins, who lived life with gusto for 17 years, most of which were in Jane's lap, arms, or bedside. We are absolutely heartbroken but extremely grateful for the years he blessed us with his giant personality and even bigger smile. Rest in power, Jimmy (2008 - 2025).

To get us through the evening, we decided to pour a couple of proper gin martinis, grab some samples for The Game, and take a tour of some of our favorite white florals from our collection...

After a week off battling colds, allergies, and then a round of colds again, we are back going through the usual run-down of new releases, new critiques, and new disappointments featuring perfumes from Marlou, DS & Durga, MFK, and Strangelove NYC. We also spend time declaring our love for Le Galion's skanky Jasmin, VioVerde by Xinu, and the Collection Privee from Houbigant. Finally, what qualifies as a dad fragrance? We haven't been testing a lot of new perfumes or releases lately but the ones we can't keep our noses off of are from Trey Taylor's newly launched Serviette line of perfumes. There are four in total and we can't be happier for our friend of the pod which you will clearly hear as we discuss each fragrance.

We’re a day late, and in the perfume collectors game, always a dollar short but here nonetheless. In this episode, we’re talking some of the latest new releases from Liis, Arquiste, Byredo, and Guerlain. We have some great listener emails where we try to give our thoughts on licked arms, first date perfumes, and the gray markets. Also, our featured collection this week comes from the new house of Jouissance Parfums, who are bringing powdery, vintage, and very high-minded sexy fragrances to the market. The long overdue second installment of Fragra-Files featuring the perfumes of Hedi Slimane's Celine. An incredible collection of extremely thoughtful and luxurious scents that are both as gorgeous as they are incredibly consistent with their through-line of orris, musk and soft woody notes. But who is the perfumer behind these compositions and why are they so focused on youthful (and slender) beauty in their inspirations? Well, we have our thoughts and discuss at length as we go through the entire collection that has become a true favorite of Fragraphilia.

Lots of talk about tea, narcissus, and two brands we really like weaving in and out of this episode. The latter being St Rose, which continues to impress us, and a new-to-us brand, Pekji out of Turkey. We also share some thoughts on a handful of samples we tested out this past week including both Odile and Odette from Gumamina.

Through moving, shoddy HVAC systems that needed to be replaced, hurricane wind storms and power outages, we are back, baby!
