Monster Movie March Madness is hereeeeee! And we’re starting off with an absolute banger from 2005, The Descent. A powerful movie about womanhood (Happy  International Women’s day) and friendship and loyalty and… there was something else I swear… Oh yeah! Cave creatures!! Even without the creepy crawlers, this would be a tense and terrifying movie that leaves you holding your breath. Coming at you with a horror staple this week, the OG gore p*rn, Eli Roth’s breakout movie: Hostel. The effects in this movie hold up beautifully of course. The dialogue? Not so much… I’m not sure if we’re supposed to like the protagonists but I guess it makes it more fun to watch the torture scenes? At least Olie is fun to watch. Welcome back listeners! We got really deep this week talking about It Follows from 2014! This eerie movie with an amazing  synth-y score is an atmospheric nightmare with awesome acting and a weird premise. If you watched it before this episode, how would you deal with the monster, would you just pass it on to someone else? How would you try to “beat” it? We’d like to play a game… called “why are we the way that we are?” (Spoiler: No one wins) Saw X (2023) was such a fun time to watch and talk about. Are we nerds for liking this stupid franchise so much? Yes. Does Casey still get pumped every time Costas Mandylor comes on screen (or is mentioned)? Also yes.
