Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel is set to announce charges in the long-running investigation into former Michigan speaker of the house Lee Chatfield. This investigation allegedly has to do with the former speaker's use of millions of dollars in political contributions.

Developing in Downtown Detroit, Friday afternoon: Police and the fire department have responded to an explosion and fire at a DTE substation. A loud explosion was heard as the fire broke out near Third Street and Lafayette.

Crews are still on the scene of a bad crash on I-696 this midday. Michigan State Police is asking drivers to slow down in the rain, after a semi truck crashed into the median at westbound I-696 near Greenfield in Oak Park. (Credit: WWJ)

The two men are accused of approaching the 44-year-old man in the parking lot, beating him with baseball bats, and leaving the area in a white Chevy pickup truck.

Three people have been shot in Lansing during an officer-involved shooting. Lansing police tells WWJ that two of three people shot were officer, as well as a suspect.
