An Unknown Tomorrow
03/30/2020

It has never been more apparent that we do not know anything of what tomorrow brings than in today's world. With so much uncertainty going on and not even being able to answer the simplest question of "what am I doing tomorrow?" Chas reminds us that the only one who truly knows tomorrow is the Lord. If we trust in Him and hold true to Him, we can rest easy in our not knowing what tomorrow brings. He holds us true.

Stick to the Scriptures
02/24/2020

Paul warns the Corinthian church to not concern themselves on WHO is teaching the scriptures but rather to focus on the scriptures themselves. Paul recognized the tendency with the Corinthian church was to be very prideful of themselves and their church, which was causing them to be more lenient with sin. "Don't go above what is written." Stick to the Scriptures, otherwise we risk getting stuck to the world.

Don't Judge Pastors (or People)
02/17/2020

Final judgement belongs to the Lord. It is not our place to judge anyone's heart because we can't. Our sin prevents us from being able to be a just judge to those around us; luckily we have a perfect judge that presides over us that judges us all evenly and perfectly.

Please be Foolish in This World
02/10/2020

To be wise to the Lord is to be foolish to the world. The things that we believe, the things we hold to be true, are considered utter foolishness to those who don't believe. The question becomes, will you allow yourself to be foolish in the eyes of the world so that you can be considered wise to the Lord?

Don't Pick a Favorite Pastor
01/06/2020

Picking favorites leads to division in the church. This is exactly what Paul warned against in his letter to the Corinthians. Pastor Chas reminds us that as followers of Christ, it is about Him that we should be concerned, not any triviality of picking favorites.

Son of David, Son of God
12/30/2019

What does Matthew want us to know about the birth of Jesus? Joseph is necessary to the birth so that Jesus is in the line of David. The virgin conception by the Holy Spirit is necessary to the birth so that Jesus is the Son of God. Everything happened just as it needed to so as to fulfill scripture.

Nothing Destroys God's Promises
12/16/2019

What is the purpose of the "deportation" as a marker in Jesus' genealogy in Matthew's Gospel? By all accounts, it looks like God has rescinded His promises made to Abraham and David when the Israelites are exiled. Jesus is the fulfillment of the promises made to Abraham and David.
